PSV vs Arsenal Prediction and Betting Tips: Odegaard a huge price in the shots on target market

Arsenal travel to Eindhoven to take on PSV on Tuesday evening in a Group B Champions League clash. We’ve previewed the action and provided you with our two best bets for the game which kicks-off at 5:45pm.

Both PSV and Arsenal have already secured their place in the last-16 of the Champions League with The Gunners guaranteed top-spot in Group B. 

Peter Bosz’s side have collected eight points in their group campaign after victories against Sevilla and Lens in Matchday 4 & 5. Domestically PSV have enjoyed a remarkable perfect start to the season after 15 wins from 15! In fact the Dutch side have only been beaten once in all competitions since the start of the season which came in the 4-0 defeat at the Emirates in September. 

Arsenal’s six game winning streak came to an end on Saturday as they were beaten 1-0 at Villa Park thanks to a first half goal from John McGinn. In Europe, their goal difference of +12 is better than any other side in the group phase and if they manage to get the victory on Tuesday, it would be the first time since 2005/06 when they reached the final, that they have won five of their group matches.

Several changes are expected from Mikel Arteta who will return to the touchline after having to spend the game in the directors box due to suspension at Villa Park on Saturday. Martin Odegaard however is expected to keep his place in the starting XI and he already has two goals in Europe this season.

One of those came against PSV in the reverse fixture in a game where he managed to hit the target on three occasions and in the Premier League he has managed 13 in 13 matches this term. Other firms such as Sky Bet have this selection for Odegaard to manage Over 0.5 Shots on target at 8/13, and we think the close to even money offering of 49/50 looks a value play with BetMGM.

Arsenal have matches against Brighton and Liverpool next up in the Premier League and with them already qualified, one player who we do think will be handed a start in Eindhoven is Jorginho. At 13/2 we like the look of the former Chelsea man to be carded, with most other firms going around the 4/1 region. 

The defensive midfielder is no stranger to a booking having collected ten yellows in a single Premier league campaign during his time at Stamford Bridge. The Italian was carded in one of his two Champions League starts this season and in his final league campaign with Chelsea he averaged 0.3 yellows per 90 minutes. With this in mind 13/2 looks a little too big a price here.
