PSG vs Inter Milan Prediction
PSG vs Inter Milan Preview
PSG have been close on a few occasions but have never managed to lift this trophy so Luis Enrique will be hoping he can be the manager to rewrite history.
As for the Italians, they are aiming to add a fourth Champions League title to their cabinet after finishing just one point behind Napoli in the Serie A this season.
PSG got the better of Arsenal 3-1 on aggregate over the two semi-final legs, while Inter Milan knocked out favourites Barcelona 7-6 on aggregate in a blockbuster tie.
While PSG have played a lot more free-flowing and expansive style of football, Inter have relied upon defensive compactness and effective transitions, particularly using their wing backs. It will be a clash of two different footballing ideologies and despite PSG being favourites on paper, it is incredibly tough to call a winner.
The French Champions lost their last Champions League final to Bayern Munich back in 2020 while Inter were also beaten by Manchester City in the final of this competition back in 2023 in Istanbul.
While PSG are looking to complete a quadruple, Inter will try not to end their season trophyless after there were talks of them completing a treble earlier on in the season. However, winning the Champions League would still be an incredible achievement, considering the opponents they have had to face on their way to the final including Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
It is a massive occasion for both these sides and a mouth-watering contest for the neutrals, which I have covered with two of my best bets.
PSG vs Inter Milan Tips
Nuno Mendes has been one of PSG’s most influential players defensively in the Champions League this season, averaging three tackles per game in this competition. In his last six Champions League appearances, he has hit 3, 5, 3, 1, 5 & 8 tackles. He will be up against Denzel Dumfries who is expected to be heavily involved for Inter Milan in transitions so there will be plenty of opportunities for Nuno Mendes to put in a tackle.
Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is averaging three shots per game in the Champions League this season, attempting a shot in all seven of his starts in this competition. In those seven starts, he has attempted 1, 3, 3, 5, 5, 5 & 2 shots, and he loves to cut in from the left-hand side and get a shot away. He is also not afraid of striking the ball from distance which makes this a very solid selection.
Champions League finals have been tight and cagey affairs in recent years, with players afraid of making too many mistakes on such a massive occasion. This fixture has not seen three goals in the first half in the last 10 years and I expect a very tight and competitive opening 45 minutes here, with both sides trying not to give away any clear cut opportunities to the opposition.
Denzel Dumfries exploited Barcelona’s high defensive line extremely well over both the semi final legs, registering three assists over the two games.
In the current Inter system, he bombs forward at every opportunity down the right hand side and considering PSG are vulnerable in transitions, Dumfries to get an assist is far too big at 8/1.
We will take this with a small 0.25pt stake as our second bet for the Champions League Final.
PSG vs Inter Milan Starting Lineups
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is in for PSG, as does Desire Doue. However, Presnel Kimpembe is out for the French side.
Benjamin Pavard starts for Inter Milan, alongside the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
