Premier League Winner Without Man City Odds: Who can be the best of the rest?

If the betting sites are anything to go off, Manchester City are going to comfortably win the 2023/24 Premier League and I think most football fans would have said the same regardless of the odds.
Manchester City have won five of the last six Premier League titles and with Pep Guardiola in charge of their ever-improving squad, this year looks no different.
Luckily for punters, betting sites have an alternative market for those looking for an ante-post bet as you can back the winner of the league without Man City.
We’ll take a look through the market and offer our thoughts on the big players in the betting.
Arsenal: 9/4
Arsenal fans will ultimately be disappointed by last season despite it being a really solid showing from the Gunners. Arsenal pushed Manchester City to their limits in the Premier League and although they finished second, they were playing great football and for the majority of the time competing with what could be one of the greatest teams in Premier League history.
They come in as the 9/4 favourites to win the league without Manchester City this season and you’d have to say rightfully so. Their squad has only improved since last season and with Declan Rice adding some much-needed stability into their midfield, people are suggesting that they can not only replicate last season, but go one better and win the whole thing.
Liverpool: 7/2
Liverpool’s 2022/23 campaign was one to forget with them only managing to secure Europa League. Their 5th place finish was actually not bad considering the start they had and the latter stages of their season was much more impressive than the beginning.
Liverpool are the only team to best Manchester City in recent times as they lifted the Premier League title in the 2019/20 season. With some big signings already being made this transfer window, they’ll be hoping to once again challenge for the top spots in the Premier League.
Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai should prove to be two huge signings for Liverpool after their midfield has been brought into question a lot in recent years. Liverpool were also in all honesty, very unlucky with injuries last season and providing their players remain fit, there’s no reason why they aren’t a good bet for the Premier League runner-up spot.
Man Utd: 7/2
Manchester United performed a lot better than many were expecting last season under Erik Ten Hag in his debut season, showing some much needed improvement as a team. This United outfit seems a lot more like a solid unit than a bunch of individuals.
Manchester United have been smart about their business this season with the signings of Onana and Mason Mount, two crucial players who will look to transform the way that Man Utd play and the way that Ten Hag wants them to play. They are also set to announce Rasmus Hojlund who should be providing that much needed attacking threat that they have been lacking for a while now.
Manchester United won the Carabao Cup last season and made it to the FA Cup final, if they are to build off that success, a second place finish is definitely on the cards.
Chelsea: 8/1
Chelsea have once again attempted to revamp their image with an abundance of new signings and departures at the club. Havertz, Mount, Kovacic, Koulibaly, Pulisic, Mendy, Loftus-Cheek, Ampadu, Kante and Aubameyang have all left the club this window and they’re linked with a number of players to replace these players.
Chelsea always seem to surprise when they’re expected to not do anything in the coming season and with a fresh new squad and new man Mauricio Pochettinho in charge, Chelsea could very well prove all the doubters wrong.
Newcastle: 8/1
Newcastle’s takeover has been very successful and the Toon now have Champions League football to look forward to this season thanks to a fourth place finish in the 2022/23 season. Betting sites are expecting Newcastle to perform well yet again in the Premier League and are a fairly short price to win the league at 25/1.
Newcastle have invested well yet again with the signing of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan and Harvey Barnes from Leicester, two players that should add some much needed depth for Newcastle’s long season.
It seems like a big ask for Newcastle to be the best of the rest but this team continues to surprise and it’d be foolish to rule them out.
