PFA Player of the Year 2023/24 Odds: Can anyone challenge Erling Haaland this season?

The 2023/24 Premier League season hasn't even kicked-off, yet you can already place a bet on who could be crowned the PFA Player of the Year.
This is an intriguing betting market that we will be tracking throughout the whole campaign, keeping you up-to-date with the latest movements and price changes.
To start things off, we'll be looking at the top-five ante-post names in the betting, along with their prices to win the coveted annual award.
Erling Haaland: 9/4
Erling Haaland, who is expected to scoop the 2022/23 award later this August, is the short-priced 9/4 favourite to go on and win the 2023/24 Player of the Year award.
Haaland is an extremely special player who heads into the new campaign on the back of an unbelievable debut season at Man City, where he won the treble and smashed the Premier League single-season Golden Boot record with 36 goals in 35 games.
Expect the Norwegian to pick up where he left off on Friday night when City travel to new boys Burnley for the inaugural match of the new season.
"The marathon is just getting started," he posted on Instagram over the weekend in a warning to City's challengers.
Kevin de Bruyne: 8/1
Two-time winner Kevin De Bruyne is priced at 8/1 to become the first player in history to win Player of the Year on three different occasions.
The 2019/20 and 2020/21 winner was nominated once again last season and will no doubt be in the mix again this term. His mesmerising link-up play with Haaland will no doubt continue to send shivers down the spines of Premier League defences.
No player registered more Premier League assists in 2022/23 than De Bruyne, whose tally of 16 has propelled his overall record to 102, level with Frank Lampard and just one off Wayne Rooney.
We fully expect him to go on and surpass Cesc Fabregas (111) this season, although he has someway to go to catch Ryan Giggs' overall assists record of 162.
Mo Salah: 12/1
Another former winner of the accolade is Mo Salah who was victorious back in 2017/18 and 2021/22.
Liverpool endured a difficult 2022/23 campaign, finishing outside of the Champions League spots and 22 points adrift of Man City, although Salah still managed to record 31 goal involvements in 38 league matches (19 goals and 12 assists).
The Egyptian now has 139 Premier League goals on the board, meaning he's just 11 off breaking into the top-10 of all time, which we expect him to tick-off next season.
Salah, 12/1, will be determined to galvanise Liverpool next season as the Reds bid to bounce back and mount a serious title challenge.
One thing to note with Salah, however, is he will be participating in AFCON which takes place between 13 January and 11 February, eating up some potentially valuable Premier League game time.
Harry Kane: 14/1
Harry Kane's future at Tottenham remains up in the air, meaning 14/1 is not a price I'd rush to back.
For the time being at least, it looks like he will start the season at Spurs.
Haaland's incredible exploits overshadowed everybody else last season, but Kane somehow still managed to rack-up 30 goals in a very disappointing Tottenham team. In the process, he jumped above Wayne Rooney into second spot in the league's all-time list of goalscorers.
Kane recently fired in four goals in a pre-season game under the tutorship of new boss Ange Postecoglou who will be desperate for the England captain to stay.
Bukayo Saka: 20/1
Rounding up the top five in the pre-season market is Bukayo Saka at a best-priced 20/1 with bet365.
Saka enjoyed a stellar 2022/23 season, notching 25 goal involvements, including a career-best 14 goals.
Arsenal may have just fallen short in the title race but big things are expected of Mikel Arteta's talented young side, with Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and Declan Rice all arriving so far this summer.
Considering that Saka continues to get better and better each and every season, 20/1 looks a decent opening price for the England star to win the award.
Selected Others
Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard could well receive plenty of attention at 20/1, with his new teammate Declan Rice available at 25/1.
Marcus Rashford is the leading Man Utd contender at 25/1, while his captain Bruno Fernandes is one to keep an eye on out at 50/1.
The Man City duo of Jack Grealish and Phil Foden are 20/1 and 33/1 respectively, Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cody Gakpo at 33/1 and 66/1, while Mykhailo Mudryk (80/1) could be in store for a big season under Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.
There are a wide range of players out at three-figure prices, including Callum Wilson, Diogo Jota, and James Maddison at 100/1.
