Portugal v France Tips: Kante a good price for a booking
Portugal v France is certainly one of the most glamorous ties in the group stage and although France are through they will certainly want to top the group in order to produce an easier route to the final. A draw would very likely see Portugal through but a defeat would very likely see them exit. With that in mind I expect a tight start to the game where counter attacking football may be both sides preferred style.
Portugal v France Tips
My first play revolves around Diogo Jota, he’s just come off the back of a personally successful season at Liverpool and he actually ranked number 1 in the EPL for shots on target per minute with one every 42.8mins. He’s carried that over to Euro 2020 with 6 shots and 3 on target in the opening 2 fixtures. I’m backing him to have over 0.5 shots on target and over 1.5 total shots which is a 10/11 double on 365.
Next I’m going to jump onto the cards market and I like Kante at 11/2, he’s committed the 4th highest amount of fouls so far across the first 2 matches and this should be his toughest challenge yet as he will be up against Bruno Fernandes as well as being tasked with breaking up the deadly counter attacking threats that Jota and Ronaldo have posed so far.
There are currently 19 players at shorter odds for a card than Kante which doesn’t seem correct given he plays in the position that produces most cards and is up against one of the few sides whose opponents have picked up 2+ cards in both matches thus far.
Finally I’m going for a cards double and picking Danilo Pereira alongside Kante for a 40/1 shot, Danilo committed 4 fouls in the opening match against Hungary and likely should have been carded and he will be up against Paul Pogba who’s the most fouled player at the Euros so far, and one of the few players more powerful than Danilo himself so he will certainly have his hands full.
These two sides met back in November and both Danilo and Kante were carded In that match which adds further weight to this selection.
