Paulo Dybala Next Club Odds: Tottenham and Atletico Madrid favourites to sign the Argentine

As we come into the closing stages of the season, clubs and fans alike may already be starting to think about who or what’s to come next.
After seven seasons, five league titles, four Coppa Italia's and a host of personal awards, Paulo Dybala is set to leave Italian giants Juventus this summer as a free agent. If reports from the omnipresent Fabrizio Romano are to be believed, Dybala had a verbal agreement with the club back in October to sign a new deal until 2026, but with the club changing their terms, La Joya will be one of a host of talented players available this summer.
Nearly 300 games racked up for the club, with over 100 goals, Dybala has shown his quality in Turin over the years, and there will no doubt be a whole host of clubs lining up to sign the Argentine. We’ve taken a look at the odds, courtesy of SkyBet, and given our thoughts about his best possible move.
Spurs: 4/1
Unlike other transfer markets, the odds for Dybala’s next club are relatively close right now, with nine teams priced between 4/1 and 12/1 to sign the forward. The current bookies’ favourites right now are Antonio Conte’s Spurs, and this move in my mind makes the most sense for all parties. Right off the bat, there’s a connection between Dybala and a potential move to North London. Although he never played under Conte, they both were at Juventus at a time where the club was flourishing, and that’s not forgetting Fabio Paratici, Tottenham’s Director of Football who previously spent 11 years at The Old Lady.
Paratici is reportedly a big fan of Dybala, and although he wouldn’t be the star striker at the club in front of Harry Kane, you’d think that Conte would find a place for someone who’s as talented and hard working as the Argentine. This could be the perfect challenge for the diminutive forward, and one I can definitely see happening.
Atletico Madrid: 5/1
Sergio Aguero, Diego Forlan, Diego Costa, David Villa, Joao Felix, Antoine Griezmann, Atletico Madrid are no stranger to fantastic forwards, and Paulo Dybala would be another that fits that exact bill. Dybala would fit in well with Simeone’s ideals as a manager, and he’d fit in well with the Atletico crowd. Except for the signing of Felix, Atletico are relatively shrewd when it comes to spending in the transfer market, and this again would go hand in hand with that. As far as I’m concerned, it could well be between Atleti and Spurs in a race to get La Joya to sign the dotted line.
Inter: 5/1
I thought this was an interesting one given how short the price of 5/1 is, making Inter joint second favourites to sign Dybala. The only way I could see this happening is if Dybala still feels he has some sort of point to prove still over in Italy. There’s not many transfers happening that see a Juventus star go to another Italian club, with it usually being the opposite happening. Overall, I think the price may be too short, but it’s one to keep an eye on.
Arsenal: 6/1
Here’s another one that may fit the bill with what the manager is building at the club. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are finally going through a revival, and look set to finish in the top four this season, giving Dybala the guarantee of playing on Europe’s biggest stage next season (providing they come through the qualification stage). Arteta is looking for technical, talented players, who aren’t afraid of rolling their sleeves up, something which Dybala defines.
It’ll be interesting to see if Arsenal try to one up their rivals, something which has become common throughout the years, and the price of 6/1 is definitely an interesting one.
PSG: 7/1
As we know, money is no object when it comes to the Parisiens spending, but this may be one of the smarter signings they could make. With Kylian Mbappe looking set to leave the club on a free this summer himself, a space will open up in their front line, and the guarantee of challenging for trophies, and playing until at least the early knockout rounds of the Champions League may prove enticing for Dybala, along with the presumably massive wages that they could afford.
Barcelona: 8/1
The Catalans have an affinity for talented South Americans, and this would be no different. With the club going through some well known recent financial troubles, this would fit the bill in terms of the type of marquee signings that the fans would expect, along with being able to benefit the team. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s revival at Barca has shown that it could be an option that entertains Dybala, and the fact that he could be able to join a team that speaks his native tongue is another that could lead to him moving to La Liga. Again, definitely one to keep an eye on at 8/1.
