These two have spent much different lengths residing in League One - Peterborough are looking to jump back up a division for the first time in two seasons, while Oxford are looking to break a 25-year absence from the second tier.
A final day victory for The U's over Exeter saw them climb from seventh into fifth to set up a first play-off dance for three seasons against The Posh, who ended the regular campaign seven points above their opponents, but still eight from Derby in second.
Oxford vs Peterborough Tips
The Posh ended the 2023/24 campaign as the League One top scorers with 89 goals - three more than Bolton, who finished in third, 12 more than the two automatically promoted teams and 10 higher than their opposition here.
That recent 5-0 obliteration at the hands of Oxford was The U's breaking a seven-game winless cycle in this head-to-head fixture, with Peterborough managing 2+ goals in five of these, including December's 3-0 win in this fixture.
Across the season they've netted two or more goals in 10 away matches, and have achieved this line in six of their last eight, home or away.
Seven different sides have scored 2+ goals against Oxford at the Kassam Stadium, and we fancy Darren Ferguson's men to find the back of the net at least twice on Saturday night.
We're hoping Joel Randall will be the man to despatch one of those efforts, making it his 13th goal of the season for Peterborough.
The attacking midfielder has netted two in his last three, including what he and many believed would be the winning goal on the final day against Bolton before substitute Cameron Jerome levelled the score with around 10 minutes to go.
10 of his strikes have come in league matches, but most comforting for this 9/2 selection is how four of these have been recorded in his last seven outings, making him a man to watch in this semi-final face off.
