The Tricky Trees have won their last three home matches against The Gunners in all competitions, winning FA Cup ties in 2018 (4-2) and 2022 (1-0), and 1-0 in this league fixture last season. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side currently sit 16th in the Premier League table just four points above the relegation zone. The prospect of a points deduction looms over the club who can be backed at 15/2 to record a fourth straight home win against Arsenal for the first time in their history.
Mikel Arteta’s men managed an emphatic 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace at The Emirates in their last league match to end a three-match winless streak. That victory leaves them in third place on 43 points with 17 matches remaining. The Gunners trail first-placed Liverpool by five points and are the odds-on favourites to collect three points against Forest at 2/5 with most firms.
Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal Tips
Arsenal look a little short here in the betting for my liking and I’ve decided to swerve the match result and have dipped my toe into the player fouls market for my main bet of the evening. At 20/21 with bet365 I have opted for Kai Havertz and Morgan Gibbs-White both to clear the Over 0.5 fouls line.
Only Joelinton and Moises Caicedo gave away more fouls in the Premier League last season than Kai Havertz who committed 61 offences in total. The German tops the charts for Chelsea this season for fouls and has given away at least one in all of his last seven matches with totals of: 4,2,2,1,1,3,1.
Morgan Gibbs-White has committed at least one foul in eight of his ten home league matches this season. With that 80% strike rate in mind and odds of 8/13 implying only a 61.9% chance of success I feel we are getting a price that represents value. Combining both Havertz and Gibbs-White to commit Over 0.5 fouls pays 20/21, with Sky Bet pricing this same double at just 1/2.
I’ve put up Chris Wood to score a header a couple of times in recent weeks and I’m once again opting for the big man to deliver on Tuesday. Bet365 are the best priced bookmaker at the time of writing with 14/1 on show for this selection.
52% of Wood’s shots have arrived via his head this season in the league, with four of his eight goals also coming via this method. One of the best aerial finishers in the division, I’m backing Wood to score a header against Arsenal who have failed to keep a clean sheet in 10 of their last 11 away matches across all formats.
