In their latest league outing Norwich took the lead against Sunderland but failed to contain the Black Cats' in the final third thereafter, going on to lose 3-1. Heading into the weekend, The Canaries find themselves 17th in the second tier table, eight points above the drop zone.
With six victories through 14 matches, Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side sit 12th in the standings heading into the latest rounding of fixtures. Rovers were beaten 2-0 at Stamford Bridge by Chelsea in the League Cup on Wednesday, but their youthful side was far from disgraced against a strong Chelsea outfit that included the likes of Raheem Sterling, Enzo Fernandez and Nicolas Jackson.
Norwich vs Blackburn Tips
We’ll be using the Bet Builder feature provided by BetMGM for our first play of the afternoon which comes in the form of Blackburn to Win or Draw the match (Double Chance), along with Over 0.5 goals being scored. At the time of writing this can be backed at 17/20, which is an industry best-price.
Norwich have accrued just one point from their last five Championship matches and the pressure is starting to build on David Wagner. Looking back a little further they have come away victorious in just one of their last nine across all competitions.
Prior to their league meeting with Swansea last Saturday, Blackburn had put together three consecutive wins. Rovers were unusually wasteful in that fixture and with Norwich having conceded at least two goals in four of their last five we think there is scope for the visitors to come out on top.
We’ll be playing things safe by backing them in the Double Chance market, but will also be adding Over 0.5 goals. Neither side has been involved in a goalless affair this season and with the pair being far from water-tight at the back, it would be no surprise to see this being a high-scoring affair.
Since his switch into a more advanced role Rankin-Costello has scored in two of his five league matches for Blackburn and has let off at least one shot in each of the quintet. The main factor here is that, in recent weeks, he has been moved from playing as a right-back into midfield.
I’ll therefore be having a few quid on him to score against Norwich this weekend. With Sammie Szmodics potentially starting from the bench there is also a chance that he could well be on penalty duty for his side. Sky bet go 5/1 he grabs his third league goal of the campaign on Sunday.
