Northern Ireland vs Denmark Prediction and Betting Tips: Two bets for Monday's match

Northern Ireland will attempt to complete Group H on a positive note when they host group winners Denmark at Windsor Park on Monday night.

Northern Ireland have lost seven of their nine Group H matches, with their only two wins coming against minnows San Marino, while they've failed to even score in six of their other seven games.

Michael O'Neill's troops lost 4-0 to Finland last time out and aren't fancied by bookmakers out at 6/1 to conjure up an unlikely win against Denmark, who have accrued seven wins and just one defeat from their nine qualifying matches en-route to booking their place at next summer's Euro 2024 as group winners, with Rasmus Højlund scoring seven goals.

The Man Utd striker will once again be absent due to injury but the Danes, who beat Northern Ireland 1-0 in June, are priced at 3/5 to end their qualifying campaign with an eighth win in 10 matches.

Alternatively, a draw can be backed at 31/10.

Seven defeats in nine Group H matches represents a nightmare return for Northern Ireland, who would have had genuine hopes of at least orchestrating a competitive challenge for qualification when the draw was made.

However, they'll instead have to settle for fifth place.

Worse still, they've only managed to score in three of their games, with two of those fixtures against San Marino.

A lack of high-quality firepower combined with a host of injuries has significantly hindered their attacking output and I don't see this changing at home to Denmark on Monday.

Denmark have won seven of their nine group games, including their last five in a row, and they beat Northern Ireland 1-0 back in June.

Paddy McNair looks a big price at 5/1 (Sky Bet) to be carded in tonight's fixture, especially given that this bet is just 2/1 elsewhere.

The defender has been booked three times this qualifying campaign, including twice in his last three games for his country against San Marino and Kazakhstan.

McNair and his teammates suffered a painful 4-0 defeat to Finland last week and will no doubt be in for another long evening against Denmark.
