Next Wolves Manager Odds: Pedro Martins, Ruben Amorim and Julen Lopetegui linked

Wolves brought an end to Bruno Lage’s tenure after 16 months on Sunday following a 2-0 defeat to West Ham which left the club in the relegation zone with just six points on the board.
Lage’s side finished 10th last season following a late slump which they’ve carried through to the current campaign. A prolonged streak of one win in 15 matches meant that chairman Jeff Shi believed he had “no choice but to act” over the weekend.
A dearth of goals was a puzzle Lage failed to solve, with just three goals scored in eight games this season: the joint-lowest in the top-four leagues.
Reports are suggesting that Wolves want to find a replacement ahead of Saturday's trip to the capital where they face Graham Potter's 5th-placed Chelsea.
A host of names - including a fair few Portuguese coaches - are being linked in the next Wolves manager odds, a market in which we've taken a closer look at below to see who the Midlands club could appoint next…
It wouldn’t exactly be a huge shock if Wolves opted for their third consecutive Portuguese manager, reflected in the odds market, which contains the likes of ex-Olympiacos boss Pedro Martins, Rúben Amorim (Sporting Lisbon), former Chelsea and Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas, Sérgio Conceição (Porto), and Abel Ferreira (Palmeiras).
At this early stage, the spotlight is shining brightly on both Pedro Martins and Ruben Amorim, with the former already “sounded out” by the club according to The Guardian. Martins’ last job came in Greece at Olympiacos, with whom he led to three consecutive titles and a cup triumph, only to suffer the sack at the start of the season: he was replaced by former Huddersfield coach Carlos Corberan, who himself lasted only 11 games before suffering the same fate.
As for Amorim, he’s enjoyed a rapid ascent up the managerial ranks over the last couple of years. Prized by Sporting CP from Braga after just 13 games - which included cup glory - he went on to storm Sporting CP to the Portuguese title in his first full season; the club’s first in 19 years; and he lost just one game in the process. Linked with PSG in the summer, the talented 37-year-old recently masterminded a 2-0 win over Antonio Conte’s Spurs in the Champions League.
Amorim would be an extremely intriguing appointment, but one that may prove difficult to orchestrate given that Sporting CP are in the Champions League where they've won both games so far, while he also has a reported €30m release clause.
Over the weekend, reports in Spain suggested that Sevilla were considering replacing Julen Lopetegui following their stuttering start to the current campaign. The Europa League winner, who has managed Real Madrid and Spain, has subsequently been tipped up for Wolves and features prominently in the early odds markets for a job he’s been linked to in the past.
Other managers in the betting mix, include Celtic's attack-minded manager Ange Postecoglou who was recently linked to Brighton, Mainz's Bo Svensson, the out-of-work Sean Dyche, and ex-Valencia boss Jose Bordalas, while for those wondering Nuno Santo is currently working in Saudi Arabian at Al-Ittihad.
