Next Tottenham Manager Odds after Arne Slot rules himself out
Tottenham have suffered another major blow in their pursuit of a new permanent manager after the red-hot frontrunner for the post, Arne Slot, ruled himself out of the running.
Feyenoord's title-winning boss looked to be on his way over to the Premier League, however, on Wednesday he revealed that his intention was to stay in Rotterdam.
So, what now for Spurs? We've taken a look at the latest in the next Tottenham manager odds...
Tottenham supporters will be desperately hoping that they aren't in store for a repeat of the diabolical 2021 summer search for a new manager.
Two years ago Spurs were linked with a plethora of managers, suffering numerous set-backs before eventually opting for Nuno Santo.
After just 10 Premier League games, the former Wolves boss was swatted aside for Antonio Conte.
Conte departed 18 months later in March. His assistant Cristian Stellini replaced him for four matches. Now it's Ryan Mason who occupies the hot-seat until the end of the current campaign.
Over the last couple of months, the likes of Julian Nagelsmann, beloved former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, and Arne Slot have all been linked with the job.
As mentioned, Slot is now staying at Feyenoord, while Pochettino is on the cusp of the Chelsea job.
As for Nagelsmann, the ex-Bayern Munich boss had seemingly dropped out of the running, only to now boomerang back to the top of the market at 10/3.
Former Spain and Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has also been catapulted back into contention at 5/1, pursued by the recently sacked duo of Brendan Rodgers (8/1) and Graham Potter (11/1), as well as Celtic's treble-chasing Ange Postecoglou (14/1).
One interesting name to keep an eye on is Luciano Spalletti (14/1).
Despite ending Napoli's 33-year wait for another Scudetto, the Italian surprisingly looks set to depart Naples at the end of the season.
“I’m not waiting for anything,” he said to DAZN last weekend.
“Everything is clear and decided. The only thing left now is to publicly state it.”
Elsewhere, former Premier League players Ruud van Nistelrooy (PSV) and Xabi Alonso (Bayer Leverkusen) both feature further back in the betting, as do Sporting Lisbon's Ruben Amorim and Benfica boss Roger Schmidt.
