From Rob Edwards and Carlos Corberan to Sean Dyche: All of the early names in the next Middlesbrough manager odds

Chris Wilder has become the eighth Championship manager to lose his job this season and sixth in the space of what has been a chaotic three-week period, after he had his contract terminated by Middlesbrough on Monday morning.
Middlesbrough‘s decision to axe the experienced boss followed a 1-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Coventry, which left one of the pre-season favourites for promotion stuck in the relegation zone with just two wins from 11 games.
As a result, Boro are looking for their seventh different manager since Aitor Karanka’s exit in March 2017.
So, who will the 22nd-placed club turn to next? Below we’ve analysed the next Middlesbrough manager odds…

In as the early bookies’ favourite you’ll find Rob Edwards, who is evens with Bet Victor for a swift return to the Championship dugout after Watford cut his tenure short last week after just 10 league games.
It would be no surprise if the progressive young coach was eager to get another job ASAP and it’s already been reported by The Telegraph that the 39-year-old is a strong contender to succeed Wilder and is even set to be interviewed by Boro this week.
Edwards, who is also being linked with the vacancy at Cardiff, previously led Forest Green Rovers to the League Two title in his only other season in senior management.
Carlos Corberan is another name that’s been touted at this early stage. The Spaniard did an unbelievable job in leading Huddersfield to the play-off final last season, before he was lured over to Greece to take charge of giants Olympiakos. He was then brutally sacked a few weeks ago after all of 11 matches. However, while his pride would have been hurt, it by no mean harms his reputation.
Interim Leo Percovich (16/1) can’t be ruled out given that he’s currently the man in charge of the Boro first team, starting with Birmingham at home on Wednesday. Former bosses Jonathan Woodgate and Tony Pulis have also been listed, but a return for either is surely remote.
Next Manager Markets
We’re yet to write a ‘next manager’ article in relation to a Premier League or Championship club this season that’s not yet featured Sean Dyche, who seems to be everywhere at the moment as he eyes up a return to the dugout.
Well, Middlesbrough is no exception, with the former Burnley boss hovering around the 10/1 mark to sign on the dotted line at the Riverside.
With two Championship promotions on his resume, the out-of-work Scott Parker is seeking his next opportunity in management. Other names in the Job Centre include David Wagner, Liam Rosenior, Duncan Ferguson, Sam Allardyce, and Michael Carrick.
Managers in-work who could attract attention include Cambridge’s Mark Bonner, who was in the frame for the Rotherham job, League One leader Steven Schumacher (Plymouth) or Liam Manning at MK Dons. Meanwhile, former QPR boss Mark Warburton could potentially have his head turned from his current coaching role at West Ham.
As for Wilder, he continues to be linked with the vacancy at Premier League side Bournemouth, for which he’s currently priced at 5/4 with BetVictor. If this does come to fruition then Cherries caretaker Gary O'Neil could find himself in contention to return to the Riverside as manager.
