Next Man Utd Manager Odds: Latest prices on Mauricio Pochettino, Erik Ten Hag and Thomas Tuchel

Three prominent contenders in the next Man Utd manager market were each dumped out of the Champions League at the first hurdle of the knockout stages.
Man Utd’s interim boss Ralf Rangnick, who is not believed to be a serious contender, was scalped by Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid 2-1 on aggregate after falling to a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
At the same time over in Holland, Erik ten Hag’s Ajax were booted out of the competition by Benfica, who came away from Amsterdam with a 1-0 triumph to seal their passage through to the quarter-finals.
A week prior, Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG inexplicably collapsed against Real Madrid.
For now, Pochettino remains the 6/4 frontrunner at the summit of the market, followed by Ten Hag at 11/4, while Rangnick is out at 16/1 (Paddy Power/Betfair).
Pochettino’s tenure at PSG has not gone to plan and he’s widely expected to leave the club at the end of the season, with Zinedine Zidane the odds-on favourite to replace him in a market which also features Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte: Full odds here.
Ten Hag has more than proven himself at Ajax, most prominently through his attractive and possession-based style of play, youth development, and trophy haul.
Both Pochettino and Ten Hag are wounded right now and while their respective Champions League exits won’t shatter either of their chances of bagging the permanent Red Devils job, it could potentially bring other managers into United’s thinking.
Jamie Carragher’s belief that Man Utd should hone in Thomas Tuchel given the uncertainty engulfing Chelsea caused quite the stir. However, he had a point. The German is an elite manager and someone who has the pedigree, confidence and blueprint to propel Man Utd back into the same conversation as Man City and Liverpool.
On the pitch, Man Utd may not be the club they were a decade ago, either domestically or in Europe, but they should still be targeting the best bosses in the business. At the time of writing, Tuchel is available at 7/2 in the market, having previously been a 33/1 outsider.
33/1 is also where you’ll find former Barcelona treble winner Luis Enrique who is enjoying a resurgence at the helm of Spain, as well as a rejuvenated Julen Lopetegui at La Liga title challengers Sevilla.
Elsewhere, prizing another 33/1 shot, Julian Nagelsmann, away from Bayern Munich is probably an impossible task. But you never know.
Carlo Ancelotti, 33/1, could be available this summer depending on what happens at Real Madrid, Christophe Galtier’s star is shining brightly right now and remains an interesting left-field option at 40/1, while Inter’s Simone Inzaghi could attract attention at 20/1.
Alternatively, reports that Antonio Conte (10/1) has a summer break clause in his contract at Tottenham could raise a few eyebrows.
