Newcastle vs. PSG Betting Tips: Back Bruno to be carded in 13/2 double

Champions League football returns to St. James’ Park for the first time in 20 years as Newcastle play host to the French champions PSG this Wednesday in a mouth-watering Group F clash. Read below about our two bets for the game including a 13/2 double
The Magpies currently sit eighth in the Premier League table with 12 points and marked their return in the Champions League with a 0-0 draw away to AC Milan. Since their 3-1 defeat to Brighton, Eddie Howe’s men have gone unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions, winning four of them and keeping a clean sheet in all five.
The atmosphere is expected to be electric with the fans getting right behind Newcastle as they aim to inflict damage on one of Europe’s elite sides.
As for PSG, they have had an average start to their Ligue 1 campaign as they sit fifth in the league table with 12 points after seven games. However, they started off with a solid 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and will go into this clash full of confidence despite a shaky start to their domestic campaign.
They have now kept a clean sheet in their last three in all competitions and are also unbeaten in nine consecutive games away from home. Kylian Mbappe will be the key for the Parisiens if they are to spoil the party for Newcastle as he sits top of the goalscoring leaderboard having scored eight goals in just six appearances for the visitors. A blockbuster Champions League clash awaits us and I have found two value picks in my preview below:
Team News:
Joe Willock, Botman & Harvey Barnes are out for Newcastle while Joelinton, Tonali & Callum Wilson are doubtful.
Marco Asensio, Nuno Mendes, Kimpembe, Sergio Rico & Keylor Navas are out for PSG.
Newcastle vs PSG Tips
- Bruno Guimaraes - Over 0.5 fouls committed
- Kylian Mbappe - Over 1.5 shots
- Over 3 cards
Bruno Guimaraes has already picked up four yellow cards so far this season and is averaging 1.6 fouls per game. His foul per game average is even higher against the top sides as he committed four and three fouls against Liverpool and Manchester City respectively, with PSG set to pose a similar sort of challenge.
As for Kylian Mbappe, he is averaging 4.3 shots per game in Ligue 1 and registered five shots against Dortmund in the first Champions League group stage clash.
Finally, we have a card-happy referee in charge in the Romanian Istvan Kovacs who is averaging close to seven cards per game this season and has given out a total of 13 yellow cards and one red card in his two Champions League games so far this term. Combining these three selections gives us a solid bet builder that we will take as our main bet with a 1pt stake.
Kylian Mbappe is in supreme goalscoring form with eight goals in just six appearances in all competitions including a goal in the Champions League game against Dortmund.
Bruno Guimaraes has already picked up four yellow cards so far this season and will have the tough task of going up against a strong PSG midfield. Combining these two selections gives us a cracking longshot double @ 13/2 and we will be taking that as our second bet for this game with a small 0.25pt stake.
