Newcastle vs. Liverpool Betting Tips: Best bets for Super Sunday from St James' Park

After yet another profitable preview last Sunday when West Ham faced Chelsea, Tipster Wizard returns with his best bets as Liverpool travel to Newcastle live on Sky Sports,
The Magpies made an emphatic start to the season dismantling Aston Villa 5-1 in their opening game, before falling to a narrow defeat at the hands of the defending Champions Manchester City.
After qualifying for the Champions League last season, the morale in the Newcastle camp is at an all-time high and they will be confident going into this game against Klopp’s men.
As for Liverpool, they were held to a 1-1 draw against Chelsea on the opening weekend, but got back on track with a 3-1 win over Bournemouth at Anfield. The last time Liverpool came to this venue, Newcastle’s goalkeeper Nick Pope was sent off in the 22nd minute in what turned out to be a comfortable 2-0 win for Liverpool.
This time however, a much tougher test awaits them as the bookmakers make Newcastle slight favourites. Liverpool are unbeaten against Newcastle in their last 13 Premier League games but Newcastle will be keen to break that streak here.
Team News:
Manquillo & Emil Krafth are out for Newcastle while Joelinton & Willock are doubtful.
Thiago, Jones & Bajcetic are out for Liverpool while Trent & Konate are doubtful.
Newcastle vs Liverpool Tips
Newcastle have scored five goals in their opening two games of the Premier League season with all five coming against Aston Villa at home. Despite the dominant scoreline, they allowed 16 shots on goal with six of them being on-target.
While they have been brilliant going forward, they have only kept one clean sheet in their last 13 Premier League games dating back to last season.
As for Liverpool, there is a similar story of being great going forward but struggling defensively. They have seen both teams score in both their games so far and allowed 10 and 13 shots against Chelsea and Bournemouth respectively.
For the cards, the average number of bookings per game has risen to 5.2 since the new rules came into play this season. Referees are no longer issuing warnings for time wasting or dissent and that should help us get the four cards we need for our bet builder. Combining these two selections gives us a solid bet builder that pays 4/5 with bet365.
Following on from our main pick, we are expecting a fairly open game with a lot of goal-mouth action. That in itself directs me towards this longshot which has a realistic chance of landing considering the amount of chances both sides are allowing at their goals and the attacking prowess they possess. I’m therefore happy to take “both teams to score in both halves” at 15/2 with a small 0.25pt stake as our second bet for this game.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly
