Newcastle vs. Leicester Betting Tips: Two tackle-based bets make appeal in quarter-final clash

Newcastle United host Leicester City in the EFL cup quarter finals, live on Sky Sports Main Event. We've got our man Tipster J on hand with his best bets for the occasion.
Newcastle will be looking to bounce back from a an FA Cup defeat suffered against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday tea-time. The Magpies came away with a 2-1 loss that day, but a makeshift side could be the reason for the last time out. Eddie Howe is likely to recall the majority of his first team starters for Tuesday clash here, with this being a huge opportunity at a chance at silverware, starting with progression to the Semi Finals.
Unlike Newcastle, Leicester managed to proceed to Round 4 of the FA Cup at the weekend, as they beat League Two Gillingham 1-0, but it has not all been successful for Rodgers’ side since the return from the World Cup. They’ve lost their last 3 league games, which included a 3-0 loss to Newcastle on Boxing Day, seeing the Foxes slip to 13th in the table just 2 points above the relegation places. As their injury list continues to grow, it could be a tough few months for Brendan Rodgers', side starting with this away day at St. James’ Park.
Newcastle vs Leicester Tips
For our two selections I’m looking at 2two bets along similar lines, both can me created using bet365’s Bet Builder.
I can’t see past a home victory here. Newcastle are yet to lose on home soil this season, and will be more than confident in beating an injury riddled Leicester side they beat 3-0 just 2 weeks ago.
Combining a home win with Leicester to make 17 or more tackles looks much more appealing than the 4/7 on offer for Newcastle. The Magpies are one of the most tackled teams in England, being tackled 22.9 times per game on average across their last 10 games, with 17 tackles landing in all 10 for their opponents. Leicester managed 24 in this fixture just two weeks ago. At 11/10 this looks a solid bet for our NAP.
I can’t help but have a tickle on the higher lines combined with a home win. 23 tackles has landed for Newcastle’s opponents in 5 of the last 10 games with the others falling just a couple short, away an anomaly (13) vs Arsenal where Newcastle played for a point. At 5/1 I’ll be having half a point on this bet builder.
