After drawing their last three league home games, Man City will look to sign off 2023 with a win in front of their own fans. After all, this year's previous 15 top-flight fixtures at the Etihad all resulted in a win for Pep Guardiola's men, who are priced at just 1/12 to pocket the points on Saturday.
Visiting Sheffield United are yet to card an away win since returning the Premier League, taking home just two points from a possible 27 on the road. They are out at 12/1 to hold Man City to a draw and a whopping 30/1 to come away with their second win under Chris Wilder since he returned to the club for a second spell (W1 D1 L3).
Man City vs Sheffield United Tips
The first Bet Builder hones in on Man City, who I'm backing to win but concede in the process, with over 3.5 goals in the match.
Man City have won five of their last six matches in all competitions, which includes lifting the Club World Cup trophy, while their last four home games have each containined at least four goals.
City may have shaken off the sluggishness that plagued them over November and early December, however, Pep Guardiola will still be frustrated at the manner in which his side are shipping goals.
The Citizens have now surprisingly gone seven league games without keeping a clean sheet and have conceded in 11 of their last 12.
They are unbeaten in over a year on home soil, yet Brighton, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Crystal Palace have all come to the Etihad and scored in City's last five home games. Spurs fired in three goals and Palace came from 2-0 down to snatch a point.
A Sheffield United win or even a draw is pretty remote, however, the Blades will have chances in front of goal.
Our second BetMGM Bet Builder focuses on the Sheffield United pair of Cameron Archer and Jack Robinson.
For this 21/4 double, we're after Archer to have a shot on target and Robinson to enter into the referee's book.
Archer has noticeably increased his shot output since the start of December with 15 shots in his last six games. He scored against former club Aston Villa just before Christmas and has registered a shot on goal in three of his last four games.
Robinson is averaging a yellow card every three league games for Sheffield United this season. He's been booked four times in his last seven games, including last time out against Luton.
The defender is likely to be in for an intense afternoon against the trickery, pace, and ingenuity of City's assortment of attacking players, which we feel could well lead to another visit to the little black book.
