Man City vs. Brighton Betting Tips: Foden to continue scoring streak against Seagulls

Third takes on sixth in the Premier League on Saturday as Manchester City host Brighton at The Etihad. The game kicks-off at 3pm, and below we’ve previewed the action and provided you with our two best bets.
Manchester City have lost their last two top-flight matches with defeats on the road at Wolves and Arsenal. Off the back of these two results, Pep Guardiola’s side have drifted slightly in the Premier League Winner market, but are still the overwhelming favourites to make it four league titles in a row and six in the last seven renewals.
Brighton have also suffered a few setbacks in recent weeks with no victories in their last four matches across all competitions. The Seagulls are still adapting to playing twice a week with the Europa League now on their agenda, but they remain sixth in the domestic standings having accrued 16 points from their first eight matches, leaving them four points off top.
Most betting sites go 4/11 that City get back to winning ways in this encounter, with the draw available at 9/2. A win for Brighton which would see them leapfrog Saturday’s opponents in the table can be sided with at 6/1.
Man City vs Brighton Tips
For our main play of the afternoon we are getting behind Phil Foden to score anytime in the match. At the time of writing bet365 are the best-priced bookmaker for this selection with a tempting 21/10 on show.
Only the three sides which occupy the relegation zone - Sheffield United, Burnley and Bournemouth have conceded more goals than Brighton in the league so far this term, with Roberto De Zerbi’s side shipping an average of two goals per game.
This is a rather worrying statistic ahead of their trip to East Manchester and one player who seems to relish playing against Brighton is Phil Foden. The Manchester City man has scored twice as many goals against Brighton as he has against any other opponent he has faced in his career.
In total, Foden has six goals in his last six matches against Brighton. The 23-year-old has four goals for club and country across all competitions since the start of the latest campaign and looks like a much more attractive proposition in the anytime scorer market compared to his counterparts Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.
One market where we do think a Erling Haaland-related selection does make some appeal is in the ‘to score a header’ market. This does feel somewhat of a price-based play with bet365 going 8/1 for the Norwegian to find the net via his swede on Saturday compared to just 4/1 over at Sky bet.
Haaland had only managed five headed goals when playing for Borussia Dortmund who were notorious for keeping the ball very much on the floor in that period. After making the switch to City, Haaland went on to score seven headed goals in his debut season in the top-flight and has started on a similar trajectory this term already bagging two. We have doubts about Brighton's aerial ability in defence, with only four teams conceding more from set-pieces this term and all things considered, 8/1 looks a cracking price here.
