Luton vs Everton Prediction and Betting Tips: Back Barkley to be Carded in 20/1 Bet Builder
Premier League football on a Friday evening returns this week as Luton Town take on Everton at Kenilworth Road. We’ve scoured the betting markets and have picked out two tips for the game that we like the look of, which includes a 20/1 longshot.
New Midnite customers who sign up and bet £10 on Luton vs Everton will get:
- £20 in Free Bets
- 50 Free Spins
The Hatters were beaten 2-1 by Wolves on their most recent outing leaving them in 18th place in the top-flight table. Friday however, presents Rob Edwards’ side the chance to move out of the relegation zone and above Nottingham Forest who lie one point ahead. That may only be for under 24 hours with the Tricky Trees taking on already relegated Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.
Everton secured their Premier League status for another year after a 1-0 win over Brentford last weekend. Idrissa Gana Gueye scored the only goal of the game, which put the Toffees 11 points clear of safety with just three games remaining. Sean Dyche has galvanised his troops in recent weeks and has recorded three consecutive wins, all of which have been to nil.
Luton vs Everton Tips
The first selection we want to highlight is for Everton’s Dwight McNeil to register Over 1.5 shots in the match. Midnite are priced at 4/5 on the midfielder letting off at least two attempts on Friday, while other firms such as Betfair and Paddy Power are taking a more cautious approach at just 4/11.
Across his last nine Premier League outings, McNeil has only scored once which came against relegation-rivals Nottingham Forest, however it’s not for the lack of trying. Across those nine fixtures McNeil is averaging a very healthy 2.66 shots per game and this bet for him to clear the Over 1.5 line has landed in six of those. Taking a look at his most recent shot totals and they read 5,5,1,1,2,0,2,3,5.
This bet has landed against Liverpool and Manchester United in that period and an away game against Luton should prevent Everton with plenty of chances against a side that have conceded 77 goals this season.
Despite the damning goals conceded tally for Luton we think motivation could be a major factor here and with Everton now safe, they may not be at the races as we have seen in recent weeks. We are therefore backing the home side to get the three points and repeat their success over the Toffees as they did in the FA Cup back in January.
Elijah Adebayo may have only made 12 home league appearances this season with four of those being as a substitute, but he has scored a respectable seven goals. His best showings this season have come in front of his own fans where he is averaging 2.8 shots per 90 minutes.
We also like the look of Ross Barkley to be carded. The defender has proved some of his doubters wrong this campaign with some classy performances for Luton. Only Issa Kabore has collected more cards for the Bedfordshire club and against his old club he looks a nice prospect to find his way into the book.
Combining Luton to win, Elijah Adebayo to score and Ross Barkley to be carded pays 20/1 at the time of writing.
