A first home win of the top-flight season has so far proved elusive for Luton, who have one draw and three losses from four games in front of their own fans. The Hatters are in the midst of a four-match home winless streak (W0 D1 L3) dating back to the start of September against West Ham United.
Liverpool managed a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at home in their most recent Premier League outing to extend their unbeaten streak to three (W2 D1 L0), leaving them in fourth spot on 23 points through 10 matches. Jurgen Klopp’s side also advanced to the last-eight of the League Cup with a win over Bournemouth midweek and they are now three points behind first-placed Tottenham heading into gameweek 11.
Luton vs Liverpool Tips
Mo Salah’s consistency for Liverpool has been quite remarkable over recent years. Since arriving on Merseyside in 2016/2017, the Egyptian has scored at least 19 league goals in every Premier League campaign and he looks well on course to eclipse that figure in this latest renewal, despite being set to miss a chunk of games in January for the African Cup of Nations.
Salah already has bagged eight league goals this term in just 10 appearances, as well as a further two in European competition. In five of the ten league matches in which Salah has scored this season, he has also recorded Over 1.5 shots on target and combining this selection with him to score pays 23/20 with betMGM.
This looks a value play in our opinion considering the odds only imply a 47% chance of a repeat against Luton on Saturday. The Hatters have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their first ten league matches and if they fail to do so this weekend, they will become only the second team to fail to shut out their opponents in their first 11 - Leicester City being the only other in 1994.
Luton may have failed to keep a clean sheet since their promotion to the top-flight, however their 3-1 defeat away at Aston Villa was the first time since August that Rob Edwards’ men had been beaten by more than one goal.
Only in one of their last six league outings have Luton failed to score and we believe they can get on the scoresheet against Liverpool. The Reds have conceded in all seven of their away matches across all competitions this season, with their four wins in that sample all featuring both teams scoring. BetMGM go 6/4 that the visitors take the three points along with Luton finding the net.
