Joshua Kimmich Next Club Odds: Manchester City open up as favourites to sign Bayern star
The crazy transfer news just keeps on coming as apparently Bayern Munich stalwart Joshua Kimmich is on the market as Bayern are reportedly freeing up funds for a potential Harry Kane deal.
Joshua Kimmich is one of the best midfielders in the world and has been for the past few years and with him being up for sale, plenty of clubs will be inquiring about his services. We’ll take a look at what the betting sites think about his next move and the odds for each club in the running.
Manchester City
Manchester City open up as the favourites to sign the Bayern midfielder at 5/2. Of course as well as being the best team in the world at the moment City are now lacking midfielders with the departure of Gundogan and potentially Bernardo Silva.
Manchester City are similar to Bayern in the way that they dominate the league, so you’d like to think he’d fit the team like a glove. Kimmich will also suit Guardiola massively with how versatile a player he is. Kimmich has been known to play right back, central midfield, defensive midfield etc. That is the exact type of player that Pep loves and we’ve seen it in the past where Joao Cancelo has played almost like a center forward from that right back position.
Liverpool
Liverpool are next up in the betting and for them it’d be a much needed signing. Just this window Liverpool have lost Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson and now Fabinho is 1/20 to join a Saudi Pro League side.
Liverpool are desperate for midfielders and Joshua Kimmich would be a statement signing for the Reds. There is also a German connection there for Kimmich and Jurgen Klopp and I’m sure the two have had conversations in the past.
Liverpool are at around 6/1 to sign Kimmich this summer and reports in Germany are saying that Liverpool are on high alert with the midfielder being transfer listed, this could be a decent choice for Kimmich as he’ll no doubt become the heart of that midfield.
Barcelona
Barcelona are also mentioned in the betting and whilst there are no solid links being reported, Barcelona are always snooping around the market for the latest talent and Kimmich is definitely a player they’d be interested in.
Barcelona have been very active in the recent and have been linked with Kimmich in previous windows, but with them already signing Gundogan this window, I don’t think they’ll be investing heavily in Kimmich.
Man Utd
Now it’s no surprise to see Man Utd mentioned in the betting, they always are. I’m sure Ten Hag would love to sign a player like Joshua Kimmich but they’ve got Casemiro who has been unbelievable in that defensive midfield position and have recently signed Mason Mount.
I think Man Utd’s midfield is fine at the moment and they’ve got plenty of depth, of course, no one would say no to signing Kimmich but it won’t be a priority for United.
