Jesse Lingard Next Club Odds: Potential options for the attacking midfielder

Jesse Lingard's long-term future has been uncertain for quite some time now. Following his introduction into the Manchester United first team back in 2011, the 29-year-old has had five loan moves, with a January 2021 switch to fellow Premier League side West Ham being the most recent.
The winger returned to Old Trafford last summer, with great expectation and excitement towards a fresh start at his boyhood club, but things haven't panned out that way.
It appears as though he will leave as a free agent this summer and after producing the form of his life last term, there will be plenty of clubs vying for his signature.
Paddy Power have a specials market for who his next club could be before September 3rd 2022 and we've weighed up each candidate and their odds, along with the numbers behind that sensational mid-season loan spell at the Hammers for J-Lingz.
Sevilla - 10/3
The current favourites to secure his services before the next window's deadline are Sevilla at 10/3. The Spanish side are flying in La Liga, sitting behind Real Madrid in second place, eight points clear of Real Betis, the team closest behind them.
Although this year's title might be a little too far out of reach given Madrid's six-point advantage, the club are riding high in the Europa League yet again as a record seventh trophy in that competition remains a real possibility.
Perhaps these links have emerged from another Man Utd player's switch. Anthony Martial has already made almost half of the number of appearances for Sevilla as he managed across the whole first-half of the season for the Red Devils.
If it's a career resurgence Lingard seeks, he could do a lot worse than a side that by all accounts seem to be strengthening their squad, as well as both their domestic and European position.
Inter Milan - 5/1
Next in the market are Inter Milan who are a 5/1 shot to be Lingard's next destination. The Italian club are far from short of attacking options, but as we've seen most notably in their recent European outing vs Liverpool, further recruits certainly wouldn't harm their chances of reclaiming the Scudetto.
This ultimately is the aim for Internazionale and this kind of ambition is well suited to someone like Jesse Lingard.
An upbringing and long career at Manchester United will have given him incredibly high standards, particularly his introduction to the world under the Sir Alex Ferguson era of the club.
Newcastle - 5/1
Eddie Howe's Toon Army are level with Inter in the betting, with both possessing a 16% implied chance of being the England international's new home.
During the January transfer window, Lingard had expressed his desire at another mid-season loan move. Newcastle were one of two teams battling for his signature, with Ralf Rangnick granting him permission to leave before the United board refused to sanction a deal.
This is likely to have cemented a decision on his future and with the Magpies newly-acquired riches, Lingard could jump at the chance to help them start looking upwards from the 2022/23 season onwards.
Amanda Staveley seemed to suggest this very idea recently, when she confirmed that the player had expressed his desire to make the move to St. James' Park during January 2022.
Dortmund - 11/2
Further afield, Borussia Dortmund pose a 11/2 punt to offer a new challenge for the want-away midfielder.
English products have had success at the German outfit in recent times, with Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham two players who have greatly benefitted from starring roles in the yellow and black colours.
On paper, this move arguably fits best for both the individual and institution. It allows Jesse a taste at football abroad, while still granting him the opportunity to play at an elite level, both domestically and internationally.
West Ham - 15/2
Up next is the location of Jesse Lingard's most successful spell in West Ham. David Moyes' side are as far out as 15/2 to have the United man return to London on a permanent basis this summer.
The ex-Everton boss had previously managed Lingard during his short tenure as Fergie's successor, liking what he saw enough to reunite them in claret and blue this time.
The Hammers were the other club desperate to acquire his services in January alongside Newcastle, so it's a surprise to see them this large of a price.
Lingard's delight throughout the loan spell is well documented and the attacking midfielder's stats during this time make it plain to see why:
Jesse Lingard's West Ham Loan Stats
- Games: 16
- Goals: 9
- Assists: 5
- Premier League Player of the Month - April 2021
- Premier League Goal of the Month - April 2021
Tottenham - 10/1
Finally, the sixth club included in the market are Tottenham who are priced at 10/1.
It's expected that Tottenham will look to recruit overseas should funds be freed up during the summer, but Lingard is actually the kind of player they should be turning their attention to.
He's still got a number of years left at the top of his game from what we've seen, and a potential relationship with Antonio Conte sounds like a match made in heaven.
His hard-working nature, coupled with a real flair and ability to play quick and incisive football on the break make him a suitable asset for Tottenham's strengths.
One reason for him wanting to move is in addition to first team football, is his hopes of playing in Qatar. Will his inclusion or exclusion makes England's World Cup Odds better or worse? His form and who he plays for will answer that questions for us in due course.
