Ilkay Gundogan Next Club Odds: Featuring Barcelona, Arsenal, and a move to Saudi Arabia

Ilkay Gundogan has been a stalwart at Man City, winning everything there is to win.
You’d think being fresh off of a treble win that Man City would be doing their all to keep their captain at the club but rumours are now circulating that he’s leaving this window despite his exceptional season.
As always, we’ll see what the betting sites have to say about his next move and talk you through the betting market for his next club.
Barcelona
Barcelona have been installed as the odds on favourites to sign Gundogan this summer and it should come as no surprise to see Barcelona active in the transfer market yet again.
Barcelona tried to go all out on signing Lionel Messi recently and they have ultimately failed as the Argentinian decided to opt for the MLS instead of a legendary homecoming to Spain. With this in mind you know that Barcelona have money to spend and bringing in Gundogan would definitely add some needed firepower into Barcelona’s midfield and would prove that they are once again serious about defending their La Liga title.
Barcelona have reportedly been in constant contact with the German midfielder and are waiting for a formal agreement for him to be able to register as a player. Of course, with Barca’s recent transfer activity FFP alarm bells have been ringing so his agent wants a guarantee that he can move to the club before making any more progress on this deal. It sounds like this one could be done, it's just waiting on some small fine print to be sorted.
Arsenal
Arsenal are the next most likely option for Gundogan and Man City have shown that they are not shy of shipping out their talent to potential rivals. Man City have already offloaded Gabriel Jesus and Oleksander Zinchenko to Arsenal and a third could very well be on their way if talks with Barcelona and Gundogan die down.
Arsenal are looking to make a statement this window with Declan Rice looking like he’s set to join the club and with Granit Xhaka said to be leaving, this frees up more space in the midfield. Arsenal are still at a decent price of 17/2 to sign the German but they could be potentially lining up with a midfield of Gundogan, Rice and Odegaard next season which will fill Arsenal fans with hope.
Any Saudi Arabian Club
Saudi Arabian clubs are taking the transfer market by storm and we’ve already seen stars like Benzema and Kante arrive in the league. Ilkay Gundogan has been priced at 9/1 to make a move to any Saudi club and there seems to be some legs to this rumour.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that whilst Barcelona are leading the way, Saudi Arabian clubs have been in contact with Gundogan since early January and are still pushing for a move now as it seems he’s made it clear he is moving on from Manchester City
Gundogan will be available on a free transfer this summer which opens to doors to a huge contract offer as no fee will be paid to Manchester City. Saudi clubs have already shown the contracts they offer are absurd and whilst it’s a shame to see some of Europe’s best talent leave, it’s hard to turn down the figures they’re offering. Depending on how ambitious Gundogan is, if Barcelona is no longer an option, he could join what is becoming a very decent league.
To stay at Man City
A lot of bookmakers are now offering odds on players to stay at their clubs which is great news for punters! Most betting sites are going around 2/1 for Gundogan to stay at Manchester City and sign a new deal.
Fabrizio Romano has stated that Man City have offered the midfielder a one year extension on his contract and it’d be crazy to leave the best team in the world especially considering their recent historic treble win. Whether they can tempt him is another thing but 2/1 could be worth taking on considering the success he has had this season.
