Germany vs Denmark Bet Builder Tips
To switch things up from our usual player prop centred bet builders, we've assembled a same-game multi around four different stats-based selections.
Last-16 games are typically tight affairs and although Germany have dazzled their way to being seen as one of the standout teams at the tournament so far, Switzerland proved they're still far from being a formidable force under Julian Nagelsmann.
Since Euro 2016's switch to the new 24-team format, seven of the 16 initial knockout fixtures have seen two or fewer goals. England vs Germany was one of these at the last finals, when 2024's hosts crashed out to the eventual runners-up.
The Three Lions were once again relevant when drawing 1-1 with Denmark in Group C two games ago, as were Germany in the same outcome against Switzerland on match day 3, which could serve as a good indicator for this tie given all four nations have made it to the knockout stages. Die Mannschaft are expected to be the dominant force in this game, but the Danes are more than capable of holding their own as proven in the stalemate with England.
Germany's games are averaging 11.3 corners, winning 8.3 for themselves. Compare this to the slightly lower 10.2 in matches involving Denmark, who are earning 7.9 themselves, but are conceding a lower 2.2 to Germany's 3. This is a figure you'd expect to increase given the jump in quality of the opposition.
The Danes managed four against England and although they enjoyed a lot more of the ball than Germany are likely to afford them, they'll still be able to carve out opportunities given the standard of their attacking talent.
In the way of offsides, Germany are averaging 2 per game, while Denmark catch out their opponents 2.1 times per 90 on average. The Switzerland vs Germany match had four, with both teams being flagged twice alongside Scotland catching the hosts out four times in that 5-1 mauling.
Denmark's defence will have to be on high alert to stop this potent Germany attack, especially as England didn't threaten their defence's lack of pace once - a strategy which Germany will undoubtedly employ. Kasper Hjulmand's side were caught out four times by Gareth Southgate's men, a quite frankly staggering figure since the Three Lions' backline has been heavily criticised for retreating instead of pressing up the pitch.
On the cards front, Denmark's matches average 37.3 booking points, which is somewhat astounding given the quality of opposition they've been facing recently. That same point applies to Group C, arguably the weakest at Euro 2024, where the Red and Whites still picked up six yellows, with three of those coming against England.
Germany draw an average of 28.3 booking points from their opponents, which falls just under this line, however, their deadly attack is bound to cause a myriad of problems for a vulnerable Denmark defence sorely lacking in mobility.
