Georgia find themselves eight points adrift of second placed Scotland in Group A of European Championship qualifying. The Crusaders cannot mathematically make the top-two spots, however they could still reach the finals in Germany next summer via the play-offs and their success in the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League.
Scotland may have qualified, but they are on a three-game losing streak across all formats, after defeats in friendlies against England and France as well as a 2-0 defeat to Spain in Euro qualifying. Steve Clarke’s side must now battle it out with La Roja for who finishes top of the group due to Norway being five points behind them and only having one game remaining.
Georgia vs Scotland Tips
For our main play of the evening we have combined two selections using Sky’s Bet Builder feature. Both of those centre around John McGinn, where we are backing the Aston Villa man to register one shot on target as well as to commit a foul in the match.
At the time of writing 5/4 is available on this little double and our key angle here is that McGinn often takes up a much more advanced role for his national side than he does for Unai Emery’s side.
McGinn let off four shots when Scotland faced Georgia in the reverse fixture at Hampden and he has recorded at least one shot on target in his last five competitive internationals.
When it comes to fouls McGinn has given away at least one in all of his last seven competitive matches for Scotland at an average of 2.14 per game, which includes two when the sides met in June.
For those looking for something at a bit more of a price, we’ve taken a lean towards Scott McTominay recording 2+ shots on target at a boosted 9/2 with Sky.
Only Rasmus Hojland, Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Ronaldo have scored more goals in this latest Euro qualifying campaign than McTominay who is another who often takes a more advanced role for his country.
In total, McTominay has six goals in qualifying and has recorded at least two shots on target in three of his last five matches. This same bet pays less than half the price with William Hill at 7/4, so again we’d recommend sticking with Sky bet here.
