The hosts missed out on a chance to reach the League Cup final on Wednesday after failing to overturn a one goal deficit from the semi-final first leg. Fulham put in a strong showing in their 1-1 midweek draw against Liverpool, but it remains to be seen how much that will have taken out of the Cottagers ahead of this clash.
It has been two weeks since Newcastle last were in action. The Magpies were beaten 3-2 at St James’ Park by a determined Manchester City side, with Eddie Howe knowing his side must improve their league form in the second half of the campaign if they are to stand any chance of qualifying for Europe.
Looking at the match result odds for this FA Cup game and Newcastle are the favourites with all betting sites at 27/20. The draw is on show at 13/5, while a win for Fulham that would see them into the fifth round is available at 2/1.
Fulham vs Newcastle Tips
A two-week winter break was just what the doctor ordered for Newcastle who have endured a turbulent festive season and start to the new year, having lost six of their last seven league matches. I think the fortnight break in the schedule will have done Howe’s side the world of good and we are backing them to win this game, at what appears a big price at 27/20 with Midnite.
Newcastle’s only league win in their last seven was a 3-0 triumph over Saturday’s opponents Fulham. Marco Silva’s side put a lot in against Liverpool and I think fatigue could well be a factor here. Newcastle can take advantage and get themselves a much-needed win to hopefully spark a strong run of form.

At 23/1 we’ve also had a few quid on Alexander Isak to Score, along with Bruno Guimaraes and Joao Palhinha to be carded. Isak has scored five goals in his last four matches for Newcastle, netting in all four, including a brace in the third round of the FA Cup against Sunderland.
Moving onto the cards and Bruno Guimaraes has been shown a remarkable 14 yellows across all competitions for The Magpies this season. The Brazilian has been booked in five of his last six matches and makes appeal here at the current prices.
Rounding off this longshot is Joao Palhinha to be carded. Fulham’s central midfielder was shown more yellow cards than any other player in the league last season (14) and leads the way again this time round having picked up eight, along with Nicolas Jackson and Bruno Guimaraes.
