Wolves vs Leicester City
Wolves are currently the form team in the Premier League, having taken maximum points from their last five matches, which include wins over Tottenham and Man United in recent weeks.
That surge has brought them level on 38 points with United and Everton, and I’m backing the Midlands club to make it six wins on the spin at home to Leicester City, whose relegation was confirmed last weekend.
It’s been a season to forget for the Foxes, who have managed just four wins from 33 games. Only bottom-placed Southampton have suffered more defeats than Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side, who have picked up just one point from the last 30 available.
Prediction: Wolves To Win
Newcastle vs Ipswich
Newcastle’s top-five ambitions may have hit a minor setback with last weekend’s defeat to Aston Villa, but they remain firmly in 5th place - and crucially, in control of their own Champions League fate.
A home fixture against Ipswich provides the perfect opportunity to bounce back. The Tractor Boys are staring down relegation, which will be confirmed this weekend if they fail to take all three points, or West Ham pick up a point at Brighton.
Aside from the Villa result, Newcastle have been flying. They won six on the spin prior to that, a run that included a historic Carabao Cup Final win over Liverpool, plus emphatic 4-1 and 5-0 victories against Manchester United and Crystal Palace at St James’ Park.
They’ll fancy their chances of putting up another big number here. Ipswich have gone 14 league games without a clean sheet, and they’ve conceded three or more goals in six of their last 12, including a 4-0 drubbing at home to Arsenal last time out.
Prediction: Newcastle Over 2 Goals
Blackburn vs Watford
Blackburn have burst into form in recent weeks, conjuring up three straight wins over Sunderland, Millwall, and Luton to keep their faint hopes of making the Championship play-offs alive; with two games remaining, they sit four points off the top six.
Realistically, they have to claim the spoils on Saturday, which I fully expect them to do against a Watford side who look to have mentally checked out after a disappointing campaign.
The buzzless Hornets have set up their deckchairs on the beach, having lost three games in a row and six of their last 10, while they've come away empty-handed in each of their last four away games.
Prediction: Blackburn Win
Stockport vs Lincoln
Finally, we need a win from automatic promotion-chasing Stockport in League One to complete the Acca, which boosts the odds to 13.33/1 with bet365.
The Hatters have already secured a play-off place but still have an outside shot at joining champions Birmingham City in automatic promotion, giving them plenty of motivation ahead of Saturday’s clash with Lincoln.
Dave Challinor’s side have been in superb form, collecting 16 points from the last 18 available and racking up 13 wins in their last 19 League One matches, losing only twice in that stretch.
Their home form has been especially dominant, with eight wins and a draw from their last nine at Edgeley Park - further underlining their strong claims for the win here.
Prediction: Stockport Win
