Feyenoord vs. Celtic Betting Tips: 13/5 and 12/1 selections for UCL clash
Celtic's trip to Feyenoord is one of three Champions League fixtures with a British interest taking place on Tuesday.
Group E looks an extremely difficult ask for Celtic, who will have to beat out at least two of Atletico Madrid, Lazio and matchday 1 opponents Feyenoord to make this season's knockout stages.
These two teams have met just once in their history, coming in the 1969/70 European Cup final, where hosts Feyenoord ran out as 2-1 winners over the Scots.
Bookmakers strongly fancy the Dutch outfit to get the job done again, positioning them as 8/13 favourites. Celtic offer punters a 19/4 chance if you fancy an upset, while the draw represents a 17/5 shot.
Feyenoord vs Celtic Tips
In Feyenoord's title-winning campaign last season, they lost just two games. Now the Eredivisie might not be considered much, but they've also held their own on the European stage.
The Dutch side reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League last season after finishing as runners-up to Roma in the inaugural Europa Conference League during the 2021/22 run.
This time around they're enjoying an unbeaten start to the season, winning three games, scoring 19 and conceding just five, while trouncing teams 6-1, 5-1 and 6-1 across their last three league fixtures.
Celtic have already slipped up in the Scottish League Cup second round to Kilmarnock and although they'll be up for the challenge of Tuesday's away tie, it's probably a more difficult puzzle than they'd have liked to solve right off the bat.
In Santiago Gimenez's absence, Brazilian forward Igor Paixao could fill in as Feyenoord's lone front man. He's netted in two of their last three matches, putting him nearly a quarter of the way to last season's league tally in his debut campaign for the club.
Given how the Scottish teams have very little remaining European pedigree nowadays, it's easy for a result to turn sour for them in Europe's premier competition.
If Feyenoord keep their foot on the gas they can humiliate Celtic and Igor Paixao can get in on the goals playing as his team's main focal point in attack.
As well as that, we've seen unlikely Champions League Golden Boot winners emerge during the group stages in years gone by - Ajax's Sebastian Haller immediately springing to mind in the 2021/22 campaign.
In line with that, Paixao has the potential to run riot if afforded the opportunity, which is incredibly likely given Feyenoord's expected dominance at De Kuip on Tuesday.
