Fantasy Football Tips: Three must have picks for FPL Gameweek 4
After an eventful weekend of fantasy action, managers have another opportunity to shake up their squads with their transfers. With some key fixtures to target in the schedule, here’s the must-have players for FPL Gameweek 4.
Gameweek 3 Review
Two out of three picks from last weekend delivered with midfielder Bruno Fernandes making the Team of the Week with 12 points against Nottingham Forest and Nicolas Jackson bagging his debut goal for Chelsea.
Gameweek 3 was a positive one for me with patience paying off as I held injury doubt James Maddison who bagged 10 points. I ended on 52 points and a green arrow up to 370k with returns from Chilwell, Salah, Saka, Rashford and captain Haaland although his penalty miss provided some frustration!
Defender: Ruben Dias vs Fulham (H)
Despite losing their clean sheet in Gameweek 3, Manchester City’s defence continues to impress with two clean sheets in three games. They’ve conceded the fewest number of shots with six and have the lowest xG conceded metric on 1.52 for their opening three fixtures.
Ruben Dias offers the most reliable route into the Manchester City backline against a Fulham attack that have managed just two goals in their opening three games. Dias managed four crosses in Gameweek 3 against Sheffield United which could demonstrate a new route to points for him. He’s no stranger to attacking returns with two goals and five assists in 2021/22.
Midfielder: Raheem Sterling vs Nottingham Forest (H)
A confident Raheem Sterling is a formidable threat and with two goals and an assist in Gameweek 3 away at Luton Town, the England winger should be a prime target for FPL Gameweek 4. He ended last weekend as the Player of the Week with his 19 point haul, scooping all three bonus points.
Sterling amassed five shots in the box against Luton, with three of those on target and he was involved in three big chances. Up next it’s a Nottingham Forest side without a clean sheet so far this season, conceding six goals in three, an average of two goals conceded per game.
Forward: Yoane Wissa vs Bournemouth (H)
It was a rare blank for Yoane Wissa in Gameweek 3 after racking up two goals and an assist in his opening games, but he was unlucky not to deliver from two shots in the box and the Brentford striker remains a great pick in our fantasy squads with Bournemouth at home up next.
His underlying numbers remain impressive, sitting fourth overall for shots with 12 and second for shots in the box on 11. He’s scored two goals from three big chances and an xG of 1.98 and encouragingly he completed 90 minutes for the first time this season last weekend against Crystal Palace. Opponents Bournemouth are without a clean sheet this campaign, conceding six goals.
