Fantasy Football Tips: Three must have picks for Gameweek 13

Order was restored back in FPL Gameweek 12, with fantasy favourites Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah each delivering 16 points apiece and they now face off this week. Coming back off the international break presents its own challenges so here’s the must-haves for FPL Gameweek 13.
Gameweek 12 Review
My first four point hit of the season saw me hit a small red arrow, as injuries hit the team. Saka returned with an assist in for Maddison but replacement Newcastle defenders Livramento and Lacelles blanked while Tsimikas scored 15 points on my bench.
Defender: Kieran Trippier vs Chelsea (H)
Newcastle United are the most consistent defence in the Premier League this season, keeping five clean sheets, with four of those coming at St James’ Park. Kieran Trippier is the highest owned and the highest scoring defender in the game so far this season.
He is dominant on set pieces for the Magpies, delivering six assists from a leading 33 key passes. He also leads the way for bonus points this season on 15, and is always among these additional points in games where he produces attacking returns.
Midfield: Jarrod Bowen vs Burnley (A)
When it comes to away performances in this campaign, Jarrod Bowen is the standout. He’s amassed 50 points in six away games, where he’s scored six goals: it’s a perfect record on the road for the Hammers midfielder.
Bowen is in excellent form, with three goals in his last four games, with West Ham already beating promoted Luton and Sheffield United this season. Burnley are still waiting for their first clean sheet of the season.
Forward: Erling Haaland vs Liverpool (H)
The international break has brought yet more injury doubts for Erling Haaland but he’s remained an ever-present in Pep Guardiola’s starting eleven this season and will be vitally important for the visit of Liverpool. He should remain as the top FPL captain pick.
Haaland is still waiting for his first Premier League goal involvement for Manchester CIty against Liverpool, having blanked in the away game last season before missing the home game with a groin injury. Penalty duties could be key in this fixture.
