Fantasy Football Tips: Three must have picks for Gameweek 10
We have hit a turn in the fixtures as favourable fixture runs end for Manchester City and Newcastle United, with the schedule improving for Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool. Here’s the must-have players for FPL Gameweek 10.
Gameweek 9 Review
It was a brilliant gameweek for the predictions, with double digit hauls for both defender pick Kieran Trippier and midfielder Mohamed Salah, who scored a brace in the Merseyside Derby for his fourth double digit haul in five. Erling Haaland also got himself on the scoresheet.
I had one of my best gameweeks of the season, hitting a score of 95 points for a gameweek rank of 500,000. It came at a good time after five consecutive red arrows, as I climb once more into the top half a million managers.
Defender: Konstantinos Tsimikas vs Nottingham Forest (H)
The shoulder injury for Andrew Robertson over the international break has paved the way for Tsimikas to emerge as a budget defender option in the game, marking his first start of the season with a six point performance against Everton last time out, crucially going off after the 60 minute mark.
He carries plenty of attacking threat, with four assists from nine starts last season and three corners taken in Gameweek 9. Keep an eye on his involvement in the Europa League as he can be prone to rotation and early substitutions, but clean sheet potential is high for this one.
Midfielder: Bukayo Saka vs Sheffield United (H)
Fantasy managers were relieved to see midfield favourite Bukayo Saka back fit to start in Gameweek 9 against Chelsea, where he registered his eighth attacking return of the season and he’s now among the top transferred in players for Gameweek 10.
A home game against Sheffield United is pretty irresistible, with the Blades conceding a league high 24 goals this season and keeping zero clean sheets. Saka dominates set pieces for Arsenal, and is favourite to take the next spot-kick too.
Forward: Ollie Watkins vs Luton (H)
Ollie Watkins’ purple patch continues, with five goals and five assists from his last five games. That sees him as the most bought player for Gameweek 10 and justifiably so, with their favourable run of games continuing for the next three gameweeks.
Encouragingly, Watkins has also played every single minute for Aston Villa during this spell, making him the best attacker in the game. His underlying numbers are improving too, with 19 shots and nine key passes, but he is outperforming his 3.1 expected goal involvements.
