Martin Ødegaard immediately responded to United's opener before the international break with a caressed finish into the corner of André Onana's goal, making it two goals for the season already.
Only seven players bettered his tally in this regard last season, with his contribution of 15 proving more than the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Son Heung-min and Alexander Isak.
Add to that a further seven assists and his combined total of 22 goal contributions was an extremely impressive return for the Arsenal captain.
Everton have already had four dumped past them at Villa Park in August before new boys Sheffield United added a further two to their goals conceded chart. If things click for The Gunners on Merseyside then Ødegaard can have a hand in at least one of the goals.
While things in the midfield are looking swell for Martin Ødegaard, the same can't be said about Kai Havertz's contribution thus far. Mikel Arteta looks to be attempting to fill the role played by Granit Xhaka last season with a more attack-minded individual.
The former Chelsea forward, however, just doesn't seem like the best fit for that position. He doesn't work hard, nor is he savvy enough in his awareness or his positioning to operate within a midfielder's responsibilities.
Five games in, his main contribution has been in conceding free-kicks for Arsenal. He's given away eight fouls in his new shirt - the most of any Arsenal or Everton player for that matter.
Flicking back to last season only further justifies this selection as Havertz was the third worst culprit for fouls in the entire division, conceding 61 over 35 appearances in Chelsea blue.
He was booked five times for his troubles during that campaign, and has already received his first of the new term in Arsenal's only away fixture against Crystal Palace.
