Esperance de Tunis vs Chelsea Prediction: Goals & Cards on the Menu

It’s all to play for in the early hours of Wednesday morning (2am BST) as Esperance De Tunis takes on Chelsea at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, live on Channel 5 and DAZN.
Tom Winch has previewed the Club World Cup Group D game and supplied his best bets, which includes a 7/2 fancy in the cards market.

Esperance de Tunis vs Chelsea Tips
Understandably, Chelsea are overwhelming favourites, priced around 2/9 to win this encounter. The financial power and worldwide reputation blow Maher Kanzari’s side away, although we cannot underestimate the 34-time Tunisian champions.
Esperance are 8/1 outsiders to claim what would be a shock victory. Flamengo outclassed them, while LAFC failed to convert an injury-time penalty last time out.
There’s no doubting the quality Chelsea possesses. They may not cruise to all three points, but I think they get the job done regardless. Esperance will aim to keep things tight and not let the game and occasion get to them. The Tunisian champions limited Flamengo to 11 shots whilst having just six of their own. Enzo Maresca’s men will dictate proceedings, but I can’t see the chances flowing against a well-organised defensive structure.
I like the combination of the Chelsea win and under 3.5 goals at even-money. It’s a hefty boost in terms of odds and one that makes plenty of sense.
Esperance De Tunis is priced at 4/5 not to score, so it’s clear which way the market sees this game going. The Tunisians have held their own in this competition, but I struggle to see how they restrict Chelsea. Maresca’s men scored four or more goals in five Premier League games last term, rarely blowing teams away.
I’ve taken a closer look at the player card markets for my second selection. Khalil Guenichi is a central midfielder and is likely to have another busy time in this clash. The 22-year-old has committed three fouls in both matches so far: he was booked against Flamengo and was the man who gave away a penalty in the dying moments against LAFC.
No other Esperance De Tunis player has committed more fouls than Guenichi. He’s inexperienced and isn’t afraid to stick a foot in. He’ll be desperate to make a name for himself in arguably the biggest game of his career to date.
It’s an attractive price at 7/2 for Guenichi to be carded, considering how many Esperance players are priced shorter than the combative midfielder.
With the likes of Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez in and around the middle of the park, Guenichi is in for a tough test. With an impressive six fouls in 165 minutes of CWC action, backing the youngster to receive his second caution seems a sensible angle.
