England vs. New Zealand 2nd T20 International Tips: Two tips for Old Trafford clash

England cruised to an emphatic seven wicket victory over New Zealand in the first of four T20 international matches at Chester-le-Street on Wednesday night and the reigning 50-over Cricket World Cup champions will head down the country to Old Trafford for the 2nd T20 clash on Friday night.
We managed to grab a winning tip in the first preview (Glenn Phillips - Top NZ batsman @ 11/2) and our man Steve Chambers is back with another brace of selections for what should be another cracking encounter...
Glenn Phillips - Top New Zealand Batsman @ 11/2
If it isn't broke, don't fix it! Well, having righty predicted that Glenn Phillips would top score for New Zealand on Wednesday evening we are following suit once again as the 11/2 on offer with Betfred is too big to let go. Having batted at number four last time out, the swashbuckling, hard-hitting batsman kept the Black Caps in the game with a smart 41 from 38 balls and with wickets tumbling around he was able to help New Zealand up to a workmanlike score of 139.
He has now top scored in the last two matches for New Zealand having hit a half century in a warm-up clash at Gloucestershire, and while Finn Allen showed signs at the top of the order with three sixes from the opening over from Luke Wood both him and Devon Conway failed to get the visitors off to a good start.
So, the solid option is to back Phillips once again who has shown he can hit plenty of boundaries when New Zealand are on top, while he can hold an end up with wickets falling around him, so he's a very solid bet at the current 11/2 available.
Dawid Malan - Top England Batsman @ 18/5
Dawid Malan hit an exquisite 54 off 42 balls to be the catalyst for an England win on Wednesday night and as the likes of Will Jacks and Harry Brook were the attacking forces of the innings, Malan serenely notched up a half-century. Arguably, one of the England players that can go under the radar, Malan is currently sixth in the International T20 batting rankings - which is the highest Englishman - and he could well drive England to another win on Friday.
Available at 18/5 to be Top England batsman, Malan has not only shown his capabilities of hitting boundaries, but his ability to turn the strike over means he's one of the perfect one-day batsman. The left-hander is likely to bat at number three again behind the opening pair of Jonny Bairstow and Will Jacks, and if he comes in early in the power play then he can make the most of the field restrictions before amassing a solid total in the 20 overs to gain the top England batting accolade.
