England vs. Belgium Betting Tips: Best bets for UEFA Women's Nations League clash
England Women will be hoping to get back to winning ways on Friday evening as they take on Belgium in the UEFA Nations League. Read below our preview of the game along with our two best bets from the King Power.
It has been a hectic few months for the Lionesses with the World Cup in Australia before the start of the new domestic season. Serena Weigman’s side managed a 2-1 victory over Scotland in the first fixture of this Nations League campaign, but were beaten 2-1 by the Netherlands when they made the trip to Utrecht at the end of September.
Belgium currently sit top of the League A Group 1 table after two rounds of fixtures. They opened their account with a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands on Matchday 1, before following that up by earning a point in Glasgow when taking on Scotland at Hampden Park in a 1-1 draw.
Taking a look at the match result odds for Friday’s clash and the visitors are not fancied by the bookmakers, being priced all the way out at 11/1 to get the win. The draw can be sided with at 5/1, while for those looking to get behind a win for England, 2/9 is available.
England Women vs Belgium Women Tips
These two teams faced off in February in the Arnold Clark Cup, with England putting in a dominant performance and coming out 6-1 winners. We don’t envisage this contest being quite as one-sided, however we do believe that both teams can get on the scoresheet.
Belgium showed the progress they have made under Ives Serneels’ stewardship with their last two results and have only failed to score in one of their last 11 matches across all formats. England have conceded in all of their last seven outings and despite them having plenty of quality in the attacking department, they may be exposed at the back.
Taking a look at the prices across various betting sites, there is quite a discrepancy between certain firms with Sky bet going 5/4, and William Hill going a stand-out best price of 13/8. The latter looks too big to ignore in our eyes and could hold some value on Friday evening.
We’ve also had a few quid on Georgia Stanway to be carded. The midfielder who plays her club football for Bayern Munich, was shown eight yellow cards in just 21 appearances last season. Stanway was booked at the World Cup for England and already has three cards to her name since the start of the new domestic season. At 5/1 she could potentially be overpriced for this Nations League clash with Belgium.
