Day of Reckoning Odds: Wallin to land the spoils in Saudi Arabia

Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder feature on one of the most stacked cards in boxing history on the 23rd December. Both fighters will be on the card and whilst many were hoping they were going to fight each other, The Day of Reckoning boxing card looks like it’s going to be a great night of fights.

Day of Reckoning Tips
Anthony Joshua is the main attraction for this card as he gets back in the ring to face Otto Wallin. The Brit comes in as a 1/4 favourite for this fight with his opponent being a 3/1 underdog. A win here is a must for AJ if he wants to continue his boxing career at the highest level.
A fight with Deontay Wilder, who is also on this card, is reportedly in the works but for now he needs to focus on his opponent this weekend. Wallin poses a serious threat to Joshua with his only loss coming against Tyson Fury, a fight where he performed quite well; since then he has gone on to win his last six fights.
The Swedish boxer is much more active than the Brit who has only fought five times since 2020, losing two of those fights to Usyk. The old Joshua looks long gone these days and even if his last win against Robert Helenius was an emphatic stoppage, signs of the old-school AJ weren’t apparent.
This fight could be quite interesting and there could be value in backing an upset here. The ex-Heavyweight Champion of the world is the favourite here but I fear his best days are behind him. 3/1 seems like a great bet for Wallin.
The next big fight on the car is Deontay Wilder vs Joseph Parker. The American comes in as a 1/7 favourite to win this fight with Paker being a 4/1 underdog. Similar to Anthony Joshua, Wilder is coming off a win against Robert Helenius and also has two losses in his last five fights.
Wilder has not been known for his boxing prowess but rather his devastating knockout power and considering Parker has only been finished on just one occasion, this might be quite an interesting fight. Parker’s sole stoppage loss was against Joe Joyce and that took him quite a long time to finish the New Zealander.
I think Wilder is going to need a very early stoppage here and not let Parker get into his rhythm. He’s definitely capable of a stoppage and going into this one he’ll know that he needs to dispatch him as soon as possible. Parker is known for his resilience and if Wilder can’t land flush on his chin, this could be a rough day for Wilder.
I think there’s some decent value in Parker to put in a decent performance and you can get 11/10 for Parker to land 80 or more punches on Wilder. As previously mentioned, Wilder is not a great boxer and relies primarily on that punching power, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Parker outbox the American for a while and 11/10 seems a great price for only 80 punches landed.
