Dean Woodward has analysed the markets to bring you his best two bets for the match.
Crystal Palace vs Man Utd Prediction
United are chasing a third consecutive win in all competitions, while Palace are still searching for their first league victory of the season. With memories of last season’s 4-0 loss to Palace fresh in their minds, the Red Devils will be eager for revenge as they look to build momentum.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, have had a tough start to the season, sitting winless after four league games, trying to fill the void left by the French winger Olise who moved to Bayern Munich this summer. However, Oliver Glasner's men have shown resilience, notably coming from behind to secure a 2-2 draw with Leicester and advancing in the EFL Cup with wins over Queens Park Rangers and Norwich City. Despite their struggles, Palace will take confidence from last season’s victories over United and hope to replicate that form on Saturday.
Summer signing Maxence Lacroix is likely to start again alongside captain Marc Guehi, while Nathaniel Clyne and Chris Richards compete for the final spot in the back three. Midfielders Adam Wharton and Cheick Doucoure are expected to return to the starting lineup, while Eddie Nketiah, Eberechi Eze, and Jean-Philippe Mateta will likely lead the attack.
Manchester United have found their form after a shaky start to the 2024/25 campaign. After losing their opening two league matches, Erik ten Hag’s side has bounced back with impressive wins, including a 3-0 Premier League triumph over Southampton and a 7-0 rout of Barnsley in the EFL Cup. Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho have been key to this resurgence, and with confidence high, United will aim to break their poor away record in London.
Erik ten Hag has received a boost with the return of Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount to training, though it remains to be seen if they’ll be fit to start. After heavy rotation in midweek, United are expected to return to a more familiar lineup, with Andre Onana, Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, and Bruno Fernandes all set for recalls, with new signing Manuel Ugarte likely to make his first Premier League start alongside Mainoo in midfield.
The Dutch centre half isn’t known for his goal scoring prowess, but he has made an impact in the opposition box since joining the Red Devils.
Harry Maguire is normally the main target from set pieces in this United side, but since being relegated to the bench, De Ligt looks to be that target, and with his centre back pairing being just under 5 foot, it's unlikely to see that changing.
He managed to nod home to open the scoring from a delicious Bruno Fernandes free kick against Southampton last week, and registered another shot on target from a Fernandes pass late in the first half. With Fernandes on set pieces, I think this looks a huge punt at 45/1 given this almost landed twice (theoretically) last week, around half the price on Bet365.
Fernandes is an assist machine, so this could land regardless of them combining. Four assists in his last four appearances, and 10 across his last twenty-one, hes often the key for this United team to unlock the teams defence.

Following on with the Fernandes hype, he doesn’t half love firing one from range. Not only is he the most creative player in this United side, he's also the most likely to shoot and getting his shots on side looks a good play.
He's managed twenty-two shots this season for club and country across seven starts (3.14 per game), hitting two or more shots in 21 of his last 25 games (45*mins).
Wharton will find himself very busy in those central areas, looking to stop Fernandes creating from that number ten position. The English midfielder looks fairly consistent for a foul and a good way to get this bet around even money.
Wharton has made a foul in fifteen of his last 19 matches, including three of his four starts this season. He will also have the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte opposing him in those central areas who are great for dawing fouls. Mainoo has drawn nine fouls in his last four starts and paired with Ugarte who drew two on debut and has also drawn 12 fouls in his last seven starts, Wharton definitely looks good value.
