Oliver Glasner is starting to put his print on this Crystal Palace squad and they have now gone unbeaten in four matches (W3 D1). The Eagles can often lower their standards after securing safety but that doesn’t seem to be the case under their new boss as they look to finish higher than the current 14th spot in the table that they occupy.
With four games remaining of the season Manchester United are looking to hunt down Spurs who are in action on Sunday on the road at Liverpool. A place in the Europa League is looking likely for United next season, however they will be well aware that Newcastle and Chelsea are hot on their heels in the race to secure some form of European football.
Taking a look at the match result market for this clash and Crystal Palace are the favourites to collect the three points, priced at 11/8. The visitors can be backed at 7/4, while the draw is available at 14/5.
Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Tips
My first selection on Bank Holiday Monday is for Crystal Palace to record Over 16.5 shots in the match at 5/6 with BetMGM. This may seem a rather short price at first glance for this many attempts, but Palace are the favourites here and much has been made about the ludicrous amounts of shots that Manchester United have faced this season.
Only Sheffield United have conceded more attempts on their goal this season than Manchester United who have averaged a whopping 17.6 shots against per game. This bet has landed in 10 of their last 12 Premier League matches and with United already losing seven times on the road this season, I think we can expect a good atmosphere and a strong attacking showing from the home side.
Palace have won three of their last four with victories coming against Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle. To kick off my Bet Builder I’m backing the hosts to win the game and cause more misery to a Manchester United side who have only won one of their last six top-flight matches.
I’ll also be backing Jean Philippe Mateta to get his name on the scoresheet. Glasner is getting a real tune out of the Frenchman and he has scored in each of his five home Premier League appearances under the German manager.
Rounding off the 16/1 punt is Adam Wharton to be carded. The former Blackburn midfielder has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water since making the step up in January from his boyhood club. The 20-year-old was cautioned in five league matches for Rovers this season and has also seen yellow against Newcastle and Burnley in home matches since the switch.
