Celtic vs. Ross County Betting Tips: Best bets for Scottish Premiership opener

Defending Scottish champions Celtic open up the new 2023/24 SPL campaign at 12:30pm on Saturday 5th August with a visit from Ross County - last season's Premiership play-off final winners; a victory that secured their top-flight status for at least another term.
Having led the Hoops to five trophies - three of which came as part of the domestic treble last term - Ange Postecoglou has moved south of the border to take on the challenge at Tottenham Hotspur, with ex-Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers returning to his former post in Glasgow as the Greek's replacement for this forthcoming season.
Last term, The Bhoys amassed 99 points which ultimately provided them a seven-point advantage over rivals Rangers and helped them achieve a 53rd league title. Rodgers, now recharged after his mutual contract termination at Leicester in April, will be recharged and ready for Celtic to once again conquer the Scottish top flight.
Despite ending the last regular campaign at the foot of the table, Ross County survived by the skin of their teeth. The Scottish league's version of a last chance saloon gave County the opportunity to retain their Premiership status, and that's exactly what they achieved with a 3-1 extra-time victory over fourth-placed Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle. Survival is the remit for The Staggies by any means necessary. But having seriously flirted with relegation for the first time since earning promotion back to the top flight four years ago, that task looks set to become an increasingly difficult one.
Celtic vs Ross County Tips
Sitting as short as 1/8 to win in the match result market, we've paired that selection up with both teams not scoring to provide this 17/20 main bet.
Celtic stopper Joe Hart was the league's toughest keeper to beat during the 2022/23 campaign, boasting an SPL best 16 league clean sheets - three more than his next closest competitor in Aberdeen's Kelle Roos.
The Celts put the ball in the back of the net 114 times in the Scottish Premiership alone last season, conceding just 34 goals and dropping points on only six occasions.
County finished the division's first phase having scored the fewest goals of any side with 28, cemented as the league's worst side in 12th place on 27 points.
The Scottish champions got off to a real flier last time around, conceding just one goal from their opening six SPL fixtures and winning 18 of their first 19 league matches.
Kyogo Furuhashi continues to make a lasting impression at Celtic Park. On the field, the Japanese forward is dynamite. Away from it, he's also a classy man, recently snubbing any talk of an SPL exit and vowing to repay supporters' love by shooting Celtic to title glory once again this season.
The division's top scorer last season rounded up the campaign with a mightily significant 27 goals from 36 appearances across both the regular phase and top-six split fixtures.
Among that tally, he managed to score two or more goals on seven occasions - putting Aberdeen, Morton, St Mirren, St Johnstone and Dundee United to the sword, in addition to his two braces against Rangers.
He can add last term's numbers to the five existing matches in which he'd already managed 2+ goals in his inaugural Celtic campaign.
The 28-year-old averaged a goal every 86 minutes in the Scottish Premiership last season, boasting a very solid 36% goal conversion rate.
Considering that one of those braces and his solitary hat-trick were punched against bottom-six opposition, it doesn't look particularly promising for Ross County - a team who shipped a division worst 70 goals last season - to keep the lurking striker at bay on Saturday lunchtime.
