Brighton Premier League Odds: Potter aiming for the magic 50

The Seagulls were inconsistent last season
Brighton head into the 2020-21 season with high hopes of avoiding another relegation battle, with manager Graham Potter having aspirations of a mid-table finish.
The Seagulls were inconsistent last term; winning nine, drawing 14 and losing 15 of their 38 league games in 2019-20.
After sitting in lower-mid-table for the most-part of the campaign, the south coast outfit got dragged into a bit of a dog fight towards the end of the season and saw their price in the Premier League relegation betting market get increasingly shorter during Project Restart.
However, a solid end to their season - which saw them go unbeaten in their final four matches - meant that Brighton pulled clear of the danger zone and ended finishing 15th on 41 points.
Brighton statistics, 2019-20
Position: 15th, 41 points
Goals scored: 39 (15th)
Goals conceded: 54 (12th)
Top goalscorer: Neal Maupay (10 goals)
Most assists: Pascal Groß (4)
Most cards: Lewis Dunk (9 yellows)
Brighton transfer news
Brighton have been busy in this summer’s transfer window. After signing Adam Lallana from Liverpool on a free back in July, the Seagulls have also landed the signatures of 18-year-old midfielder Jensen Weir from Wigan Athletic and centre-back Joel Veltman from Ajax.
They have however lost Aaron Mooy to Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG and Anthony Knockaert, who has joined Fulham on a permanent basis following his season-long loan in 2019-20.
Veteran striker Glenn Murray has joined Watford on loan, while it looks likely that defender Shane Duffy will complete his loan switch to Celtic in the coming days.
After months of speculation linking Ben White with a move to Leeds - where the Englishman spent last season on loan - it looks like Brighton will stand firm and keep hold of their man, and with the news of Duffy's anticipated departure considered, it seems likely that White will play a key role for Brighton this time out.
Brighton are also reported to be very interested in signing £25m-rated Almería striker Darwin Núñez to bolster their attacking options, though face stiff competition for the 22-year-old from Benfica so it remains to be seen if a deal can be agreed between the Premier League side and the Spaniards.
Brighton Premier League odds, 2020-21
Brighton’s odds for relegation currently stand at 4/1, while the Seagulls are priced as short as 1/7 to stay up this season.
Graham Potter’s side are 7/2 for a top 10 finish this term while they can be found at odds of 33/1 to finish in the top-six, and if you’re more of an optimistic fan of the club, you can get Brighton at 100/1 in the Premier League top-four betting market.
Seagulls to hit the 50-point mark?
Last season Brighton ended on 41 points but a little more consistency would have seen them break the 50-point barrier. They showed at times that they had quality, beating the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal but their inability to retain form saw them struggle towards to the back end of the campaign.
This time out they should be better equipped in the top-flight, with manager Graham Potter having more time to implement his forward-thinking style of football on the team, and I wouldn't be too surprised to see them better their tally from 2019-20 by achieving 50 points - that's priced up at 9/2 with bookmaker Paddy Power.
