Brazil v Argentina Prediction: Bet on Neymar and Messi in the shots market

Live on Premier Sports, Brazil host Argentina in the World Cup qualifiers this Sunday at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo. Hosts Brazil have now won their first seven World Cup qualifying games for the first time in their history. During this impressive run, they have scored 17 goals and conceded just two. It has been a remarkable effort so far but now they meet the exciting Argentina side that is second in the table six points behind them. This is a replay of the Copa America final and Brazil will be looking for revenge after Argentina beat them 1-0 to win the Copa America trophy not so long ago.
Brazil will be without nine English club based players after their clubs did not allow them to leave for the international break due to covid travelling restrictions. However, they still have the depth to compete and will be looking to make it eight wins in a row in their World Cup qualifying campaign. Argentina come into this game unbeaten in their last 21 games in all competitions including the qualifiers, Copa America and friendlies. The last side to defeat them was Brazil but they will be looking to keep the run going and repeating the result of the Copa America final.
This has all the makings of a nail-biter and as always I have my three best bets for this game included in the preview below:
Team News:
Thiago Silva, Fabinho, Gabriel Jesus, Richarlison, Ederson, Allison Becker, Fred and Raphinha are out for Brazil. No suspensions/injuries.
Leandro Paredes is doubtful for Argentina. No suspensions/injuries.
Brazil possible starting lineup:
Weverton; Danilo, Militao, Marquinhos, Sandro; Ribeiro, Casemiro, Guimaraes, Vinicius; Barbosa, Neymar
Argentina possible starting lineup:
E Martinez; Molina, Pezzella, Otamendi, Acuna; De Paul, Rodriguez, Lo Celso; Di Maria, Messi, L Martinez
Brazil v Argentina Tips
This bet has landed in Brazil’s last 6/6 head to head games with Argentina. Whenever these two sides meet, it is a toughly contested fixture with not many goals in it. four out of their last five head to head meetings finished just 1-0 and another tight contest could be on the cards here. Back both teams not to find the net @ 9/10 with a 1pt stake.
With Brazil missing so many key players and them being in such a solid position at the top of the table, there is no need to go all out attack and they could settle for a draw here. Argentina are also in a great position with 15 points and second position in the table. They are still unbeaten and of all the games left, this is probably their toughest away game so a point would be a decent result and would keep their unbeaten run intact. A draw represents good value @ 11/5 so we will take it with a small 0.5pt stake as our second bet for this game.
With a lot of key men missing, Neymar will have the responsibility to carry Brazil in this game and Messi is Argentina’s go to man. For them to get two shots on target each, I think 7/1 is a decent enough price. Both players should be on penalty duty too if the opportunity arises. Most of the booking prices are very short so we will go with this as our longshot with a very small 0.25pt stake.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
