Bournemouth vs. Arsenal Betting Tips: Best bets from the South Coast
Eight top-flight matches take place on Saturday with Bournemouth hosting Arsenal on the South Coast at 3pm. Both sides secured a place in the fourth round of the League Cup this week and we’ve asked our man Anthony Eadson to preview this Premier League clash and provide his best bets.
After taking the lead against Brighton last weekend, Bournemouth will have been frustrated to leave the Amex empty handed, suffering a 3-1 defeat. The Cherries are one of four teams yet to secure their first win of the 2023/24 campaign and sit just above the relegation zone heading into this latest round of fixtures, occupying 17th in the table.
The North London derby didn’t fail to disappoint last Sunday with an enthralling 2-2 draw enough to leave the neutral supporter fully satisfied. Mikel Arteta knows that wins in fixtures of that calibre are essential if they are to challenge Manchester City for the title, however he will be buoyed by the fact that his side have now kept a clean sheet in three of their last four matches across all competitions.
Bournemouth vs Arsenal Tips
Martin Odegaard continues to play a pivotal role in this Arsenal side and his influence in front of goal should not be underestimated. The former Real Madrid man registered more shots on target than any other Arsenal player last season and we are backing him to record Over 1 between the sticks on Saturday.
In the two league matches against Bournemouth last season he let off shots totals of 11 and 3, with this line of Over 1 on target being cleared in both of those fixtures. The Norwegian has recorded 11 shots on target across his last six starts for Arsenal with totals of: 1,2,2,2,3,1 and he should have plenty of chances in this clash with Bournemouth’s attacking nature under Andoni Iraola, which can leave them exposed at the back.
William Hill go 16/5 that the Arsenal attacker records Over 1 one shot on target against Bournemouth. Other betting sites such as bet365 go just 6/4 on this same selection, so I’d certainly recommend taking the much juicer offering from Hills on this occasion.
With Thomas Partey absent for this trip to Bournemoutn with a thigh injury and the fitness of Declan Rice uncertain after being brought off at half-time with a back issue against Spurs, we may see Jorginho start the game in the middle of the park for the Gunners.
The Italian is no stranger to a booking and I like the look of the 23/5 that is on show with Unibet and BetUK for him to find his way into referee Michael Sailsbury’s notebook. Jorginho was shown four yellows in 15 starts for Chelsea in the previous campaign, and has hit double figures in prior top-flight renewals for the Blues.
With the latest rule changes and referees becoming less lenient, I feel this price is too big to ignore should he start.
