Bolivia have not reached the World Cup since 1994, and things are not looking great for their attempt at making the 2026 tournament. La Verde have lost their first four qualifiers so far after facing Ecuador, Paraguay, Brazil and the World Champions Argentina.
Peru have also had a shaky start and sit ninth in the South American World Cup qualifying table after a quartet of fixtures. Juan Reynoso’s side’s only point so far this campaign came on Matchday 1 when they played out a goalless draw with Paraguay.
Bolivia vs Peru Tips
Our main bet of the evening comes from the player cards market where we are backing Luis Advincula to be carded. 2/1 may not seem like the most eye watering of prices for a player to find their way into the book, however when taking a look at the right-back’s disciplinary history, it makes for interesting reading.
The 33-year-old plays his club football in Argentina and was shown eight yellow cards in just 20 league appearances for Boca Juniors in 2022. Advincula was sent off after 44 minutes in Peru’s World Cup qualifier against Paraguay in September and was also booked in his most recent international appearance against Argentina.
There will be no love lost between Bolivia and Peru in this crucial qualifier, and it would be no surprise to see a high card-count on Thursday.
We have two teams here who have both struggled for goals of late and two of the last three meetings between the pair have been settled by a single goal.
Bolivia have only scored more than one goal in one of their last 13 matches, which came against Saudi Arabia in a friendly. Peru have also struggled to convert their chances having failed to find the net in any of the quartet of qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup.
All things considered, 2/1 for Under 1.5 goals being scored, looks a wise play.
