Belgium vs. Sweden Betting Tips: Back Kulusevski to be carded in Brussels

The European Championship qualifiers continue on Monday evening as Belgium take on Sweden in Brussels. Read below about our best bets for the game including a selection from the ‘player cards’ market.
Belgium booked their place at Euro 2024 on Friday evening with a 3-2 win over Austria in Vienna. The Red Devils sit pretty at the top of Group F after collecting 16 points from their six matches since the qualifying campaign began in March 2023.
Sweden were beaten 3-0 when they last met Belgium in the reverse fixture and must secure a result here on Monday if they are to stand any chance of reaching the finals next summer in Germany. Sweden sit 10 points behind Belgium in Group F and also need to hope that Austria slip up against Azerbaijan, if they are to stand any chance of reaching their seventh consecutive tournament.
Belgium vs Sweden Tips
For our main play of the evening we are getting behind Belgium’s all-time record goalscorer to find the net. At the time of writing, bet365 are the best-priced bookmaker on this selection, with 21/20 on show.
It has been a terrific qualifying campaign for Lukaku who has scored more goals than any other player. In total, the 30-year-old has managed nine goals in six matches after his brace against Estonia on Matchday six and another goal against Austria on Friday.
Belgium may have already qualified, but Lukaku will certainly want to take charge of the race to finish qualifying as top scorer. He currently sits two goals ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and can find more joy against a Sweden side that he scored a hat-trick against in the reverse fixture.
We’re also recommending a small punt on Sweden’s Dejan Kulusevski to be carded. 7/2 may not sound like the most eye-watering of prices for a player to find their way into the book, however we think there is a strong case to be made here considering his recent disciplinary record for his national side.
Taking a look back across Kulusevski’s last 11 international matches across all formats and he has been shown a yellow card in six of those! In the current Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, the Spurs man averages 1.8 fouls per game and with Sweden needing to pick up a result here, he looks a solid prospect to pick up a card from Italian referee Maurizio Mariani.
