Although this matchup was a repeat of last season's semi-finals, what transpired in the first leg last week was far from how events played out in the 2022/23 Europa League last-four encounter between this pair.
A ninth UEL win for Bayer Leverkusen was secured by goals from Florian Wirtz and Robert Andrich, but not without some turbulence, namely Romelu Lukaku's effort which rocked the crossbar before the scoring was opened.

The 27-year-old Italian skipper has picked up nine yellows this season, with two of these coming during Roma's journey to this stage of the competition, including a yellow in last week's away leg defeat.
Most significantly for this bet than any other potential nugget of justification is the skipper's increase in cards since Daniele De Rossi's arrival. Pellegrini had only received three bookings before his native manager was appointed, meaning the academy graduate has been brandished six under his tutelage since late January.
Whether I Giallorossi manage to claw their way back into this tie or Leverkusen put them further to the sword remains to be seen, however, either set of circumstances make the boosted 3/1 with Midnite well worth taking.

Hot prospect Florian Wirtz has been the star man for Bayer Leverkusen's extraordinary campaign, providing 18 goals and 19 assists to help break Bayern Munich's 11-year stronghold on the German title and sit on the cusp of a European final.
In this very competition, the youngster has contributed eight goals, with last week's opener his fourth Europa League strike of the campaign.
It's difficult to see Leverkusen being bested for the first time this season, especially on home turf, and Wirtz can have an influence on proceedings given the often tender 2-0 scoreline leaving this tie far from over.
For the opposition, Romelu Lukaku has seven in 12 in the Europa League this season, netting 20 across all competitions.
Big Rom netted his second goal in the last three matches over the weekend in a 1-1 draw with Juventus and is well equipped to fire his side into consecutive finals in this tournament, especially after last week's misfortune of rattling the bar at 0-0.
