Aston Villa vs Tottenham Prediction, Starting Lineups and Odds: Rogers in 9/1 double

Aston Villa and Tottenham get underway in the FA Cup in under an hour, live on BBC One at 5.35pm.
Check out Tom Winch’s predictions, insights, and the confirmed starting lineups. Marcus Rashford, named on the bench for Aston Villa, will be hoping to make his debut following his move from Manchester United.
Aston Villa vs Tottenham Prediction
Aston Villa have performed strongly at Villa Park this term. They are 10 matches unbeaten there in all competitions and they arrive as favourites despite winning once in five.
Ange Postecoglou would’ve been bitterly disappointed as his side looked unable to contain a rampant Liverpool on Thursday night. Spurs just didn’t get going. They appeared to fear Arne Slot’s side and were comfortably beaten. Spurs failed to register a SOT at Anfield and now face a quick turnaround at another intimidating venue.
You’d be brave getting Spurs onside, given recent performances. Ange is dealing with a lengthy injury list, which doesn’t help his cause. They’re 14th in the league and 10 points behind their upcoming opponents. Only Southampton and Leicester have picked up fewer points across the previous ten matches. It’s looking like a season to forget for Spurs fans.
Jhon Duran’s departure was surprising; he settled in at Al Nassr. Ollie Watkins was in the spotlight as Arsenal submitted a bid for the forward. Watkins is expected to lead the line on Sunday evening, while Marcus Rashford, Marco Ascensio, and Axel Disasi have joined the club over the last week.
Ollie Watkins will be keen to put in an impressive performance and it’s the perfect opportunity for him to find the back of the net.
We know just how bad Spurs have been in defence. Villa’s number 11 has averaged 0.55 goals per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season. His xG figure reads 0.64 per 90 minutes. The forward is underperforming slightly but he’s a fine finisher and will likely receive goal-scoring chances in front of the home support.
Tottenham have conceded the 5th worst xGA in the Premier League this season. They have some tough fixtures ahead of them, facing Man United, Man City, Bournemouth, Fulham and Chelsea in five of their next six Premier League matches. They’ll arrive here aiming to win, but I’m not sure what mindset they’ll be in after being humiliated at Anfield.

I’ve been impressed with Morgan Rogers this season. He’s a player getting better week after week. The attacker is a presence who is fast, strong, and full of confidence.
Rogers has scored six times, assisted four and been carded eight times in the Premier League this season. He scored and was booked in his only appearance in this competition this term. I’m expecting the 22-year-old to play a part in this clash.
We can back Rogers to score or assist and to be shown a card at 9/1.
In Morgan’s previous eight matches in all competitions, he’s been carded six times, scored five times and registered an assist. He scored in the only meeting between the two sides this term.
No Villa player has picked up a caution more than our man. Goals are likely between two offensive-minded teams. Over 2.5 goals is priced at 4/9, with Villa available at 1/2 to find the back of the net multiple times. Backing a lively Morgan Rogers looks like an intriguing angle to consider.
