A surprise defeat to Lens on matchday 2 hasn't swayed Arsenal from their course of winning the group and progressing to the knockout stages of this season's Champions League. The Gunners have three wins from four and are four points clear of PSV and Lens, knowing that a job over the French side on Wednesday will see their business completed.
The 6th place Ligue 1 side's single win came at home to this opposition in a tight 2-1 game, but this week's trip will be a much more difficult task to pull off. The visitors come into this matchup with back-to-back league victories following their defeat to PSV, which was their first and only in the past 12 fixtures.
Arsenal vs Lens Tips
Mikel Arteta's men remain unbeaten on their own turf this campaign, winning seven of their 10 matches here, including five of the last six, with the 2-2 draw in the North London derby the only instance of them dropping points during this stretch. Within that period The Gunners blew through PSV 4-0 and have since seen off Manchester City in a monumental victory for the club. Lens have certainly been no pushovers in Ligue 1 or the Champions League this term, however, their best work has been done at the Estadio Bollaert-Delelis. Wednesday's visitors have drawn one and lost one in this competition away from home, failing to score in three of their last four trips on the road.
Arsenal's expected dominance at home should afford an opportunity to let rip for midfielder Declan Rice, who has registered 14 attempts in an Arsenal shirt in the Premier League, finding the target with five of those. Eddie Nketiah, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are the only four Arsenal players to have taken more shots in the league, and considering that Rice is always looking to increase his attacking output, we hope he can have one shot to land this main bet.
Despite resolute defensive displays in recent weeks, we're doubling down on the Arsenal win as we see the hosts being far too strong for their French counterparts. We're pairing that up with Leandro Trossard to score which pays best with BetUK at odds of 7/2.
The Belgian has six goals for Arsenal this campaign if including the Community Shield, netting two in four Champions League fixtures. He also had a goal narrowly chalked off in last Saturday's win over Brentford. Unjust or not, that disallowed strike still leaves him with two goals in his last three appearances for his club, with half of them coming in front of the Emirates crowd. The 28-year-old, who also bagged in his country's 5-0 win over Azerbaijan roughly 10 days ago, should get the nod as Arsenal's centre forward without Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah available, and if he does, the two goals he's scored in four appearances while playing in this position give us confidence he can notch again on Wednesday.
