Arsenal vs Chelsea Prediction and Betting Tips: Two data-driven selections for Tuesday's battle

Heading into the midweek fixtures in the Premier League, Arsenal sit top of the table. They have played a game more than Manchester City, so there is no room for error when they take on Chelsea.

Mikel Arteta’s side beat Wolves 2-0 in their last match. Before that win, they had suffered consecutive defeats to Aston Villa and Bayern Munich. They showed strength of character to return to winning ways, but fatigue could be an issue here. 

Chelsea put in a solid performance against Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday. Still, Bernardo Silva scored the only goal of the match as Mauricio Pochettino’s side crashed out of the competition. The Blues need to dust themselves off quickly as they prepare for a tough test at the Emirates.

The first of our betting angles for this match is for Arsenal to make over 14.5 tackles in the match. 

Chelsea have an abundance of pace and players who like to run with the ball. They are averaging the fourth most dribbles per game in the Premier League so it should come as no surprise that they are also forcing the fourth most tackles with their opponents averaging 19.42 per game. 

Mauricio Pocehttino’s side managed to earn a point in a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Arsenal earlier in the season. The Gunners made 19 tackles in that match. They are averaging 17.6 tackles per game in their last five games against their London rivals. 

Arsenal have been one of the strongest sides in the Premier League this season but they are still averaging 15.75 tackles per home game. Chelsea are capable of pushing them hard here so they could easily exceed the 15 tackles mark. 

The next part of our main bet builder for this clash is over 14.5 shots for the home side. Arsenal are averaging 16.94 shots per league game in this campaign.  This rises to 17.63 attempts if we only include the data from their league matches played in front of their own supporters. The Gunners have had 15 shots or more in nine of their last 10 league matches at the Emirates. 

Chelsea are conceding an average of 15.33 shots per league away game. They allowed Arteta’s side to have 16 shots the last time they visited this ground and the Gunners remain a deadly attacking side.
