Argentina vs. France Bet Builder Tips: Back our 100/1 shout for the World Cup Final
It’s finally here, the World Cup final, and what a treat we are in for with Argentina taking on France at 3:00pm UK time on Sunday afternoon. Here at BettingOdds, we’ve put together our best Bet Builder tips in the form of a 100/1 poke.
Heading into the final, bookmakers are struggling to split the pair, with bet365 currently offering 10/11 for either side to lift the trophy. In terms of the match result market, at the time of writing, both teams are priced at 9/5 to win the game in 90 minutes, while the draw is on offer at 2/1.
Argentina vs France Bet Builder Tips
We are kicking off our final Bet Builder of the tournament with that man Lionel Messi to score. It’s been a sensational tournament for Messi who is the odds-on favourite to win the Golden Ball. The Argentinian is also sniffing around the Golden Boot and is level with Kylian Mbappe on five goals heading into Sunday.
Three of Messi’s five goals in Qatar have been from the penalty spot and he has averaged 3.63 shots per game throughout the tournament. The last time these two met at a World Cup in 2018, the match ended 4-3 and we think this could be another high scoring affair to round off a sensational career for Messi.
Kylian Mbappe has let off more shots than any other player at the 2022 World Cup. The Frenchman has five goals to his name and has taken 25 shots, two more than Lionel Messi, despite playing 100 fewer minutes. With his blistering pace and deadly finishing Mbappe is France’s biggest attacking threat and we doubt Romero and Otamendi will be able to keep him quiet for the full 90 and are backing him to find the net anytime.
We’ve also picked out two players to be carded and with what’s on the line here, it would be no surprise to see a high card-count. The first of those is Argentina’s Nicolas Otamendi. A player who can be clumsy at times and was shown a yellow in both the quarter-final and semi final. When these two sides met in 2018 the centre-back was booked, and if we had to choose one Argentina player to side with on Sunday, it would be Otamendi.
Rounding off this quartet of selections is Adrien Rabiot to be carded. After feeling under the weather for the semi-final, Rabiot will return to the centre of the French midfield. No other France player has racked up more fouls throughout the tournament than Rabiot and adding him to the three selections above takes us up to a cool 100/1 with bet365. For those looking for an alternative bookmaker, the same Bet Builder is priced at 95/1 with Betfair and Paddy Power.
